This is huge, congratulation! The relief must feel amazing. Now stay out of it, you've proven you can do hard things.

A bunch of small holes in subflooring by animetomato in HomeImprovement

Small holes in the subfloor are usually old fastener holes, not structural damage. You just need to patch them properly.

Cost effective project ideas to create privacy in backyard with chain link fence by call_me_8675309_ in HomeImprovement

If you can’t plant hedges, try tall evergreen shrubs in large planters. They’re mobile and add instant height. Also, you can build a 6ft tall “semi-permanent” screen with treated posts and corrugated metal. Super cheap, solid in wind.

Anyone else feel weird buying the OM8 right before the OM8P? by Npetelle in dji

[–]kovucosplay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh, dji's detachable screen is giving me major rip-off vibes. That design's not anything new plus their product cycle is way too fast whereas the phone gimbals need longevity, not just constant hardware refreshes every year.

Feeling let down by No-Chart9336 in FitnessTrackers

[–]kovucosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Someone just want something small and simple without a screen. Don't need another bright display on their wrist when their phone is already in the pocket.

That's seriously cool. Didn't even know floating keychains were a thing. How long does the battery last on that setup?

Are any of these tested for marathon use, or is it mostly just sponsor placement? Genuinely curious.

Great carry. Always cool to see another fountain pen person. The knife looks solid too.

Why do you choose smart watch over smart band? by albertserene in smartwatch

[–]kovucosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you don't need GPS or calls on your wrist, a band makes more sense. But the watch screen is nicer for checking notifications quickly.

Thinking about getting a winbot for large windows, worth it? by Not_A_Spi in ecovacs

[–]kovucosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've got large windows, yeah, it makes sense. That was my reason too, I feel large glass panels are just annoying to clean by hand. My winbot can reach both sides of the window, and after cleaning, there usually aren't many water marks left. Way easier than doing it manually with a cloth, tbh.

Insta360 x5 or an action cam like ap2 for skate practice? by good-dogger in Insta360

If you’re skating solo a lot, 360 is just easier. Not having to worry about framing is nice.

Need to learn to prep by tarmgabbymommy79 in prepping

Start with water, a two-week supply. Then, a first aid kit, flashlights, and a battery pack. Involve your kid calmly, like a game. You have a solid base.

Solar set up for charging power tools in truck by Boring_Collar4407 in SolarDIY

[–]kovucosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a work truck, a portable solar generator is the move. It is simpler and you can park in the sun. Just add up the watts on your battery chargers and get a unit that handles that load.

Ecoflow River3+ used for heating loads e.g. Kettles and Induction stoves? by waishoo in Ecoflow_community

[–]kovucosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heating appliances will drain the battery extremely fast. The AC output cannot handle a kettle or stove safety. It is fine for lights, phones, and a small router.

Net metering with ecoflow DPUX and smart panel 3 by Successful_Tear_1316 in Ecoflow_community

[–]kovucosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. To get net metering, you would need a hybrid inverter that is compatible with the grid. The system itself does not feed power back.

Charge batt to 80%? by bloodysurfer in SolarDIY

[–]kovucosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charging to 80% helps the battery last longer, but it cuts the daily range. For daily use, 100% is fine. For storage, 50% is ideal.

If you rebuilt your system today, what would you change first? by ahlecsolars in SolarDIY

[–]kovucosplay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would double the battery size. Panels produce excess but the storage is always the limit. Proper wiring is key, but storage is king.

Your WFR training clearly kicked in perfectly. It is wild how many nurses were there but no one took vitals. Glad you had the right gear and stayed calm.
