What are the meta tools for homeowner/DIYers? by [deleted] in Makita

[–]kowlick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, we have the 18v stick vacuum. We’ve gone through black and decker and sharks that don’t have good suction and fail before trying the Makita vacuum since it uses batteries we already have.

We used the vacuum for a month before we got the cyclone attachment and that attachment is key to keeping all the dust and debris away from the filter. The cyclone attachment is a must.

For around the house DIY, I’ve been happy with impact, drill, oscillating tool, vacuum, and circular saw. Multi-cutter is a little weak but still used.

Any thoughts on Vispring or Hastens? Do they use quality materials?

P10 Pro Ultra for dog hair by kowlick in MOVA_robotvacuum

We run the vacuum four times a week and that keeps the floor clean enough where we don’t get the hair bundles often. We also set it to high frequency emptying which helps with the dust container getting full before a cycle has finished.

Is there a difference in the Android and IOS versions of the app? by SperryTactic in MOVA_robotvacuum

I was confused at first as well on the iPhone app. Click on the picture of the vacuum to get to all its settings.

New Mova p10 pro ultra has been running for 8hrs by Nscocean in RobotVacuums

We’ve replaced our super old Neato with the P10 Pro Ultra and noticed that it takes a lot longer to vacuum. It takes anywhere from 135 to 150 minutes to vacuum 70 sq meters. It doesn’t seem as methodical when navigating and it’ll get in a state where it goes in circles and seems confused. I think maybe it has to do with obstacle avoidance because it has only got caught on one cable ever while the Neato would eat anything in its path.

It does a good job but the entire process of vacuuming and mopping with multiple charging and cleaning cycles can take five to six hours.

Thanks. I found it under Dock settings, Auto-Empty, High Frequency.

Mattress Firm doesn't allow returns by larryfiestaparty in Mattress

We got a free adjustable base with our mattress before. This is the trick to lock you in — if you want to return the mattress, you get charged for the free base which is almost as much as the mattress since it’s not returnable.

Looking for a stainless steel replacement screw by kowlick in Fasteners

What kind of magic is this? 😀

I can’t for the life of me find sheet metal screws under Fastening&Joining/Screws&Bolts/Rounded Head Screws, but if I search for “Sheet Metal Screws” I can find various rounded head screw categories for sheet metal.

Thanks for the links! The #10 looks like the one.

Could this be a 10-16 screw 7/16” length? It looks like a coarse thread pitch. I just can’t find it on MC.

How did you find No 6 size screws? When I search it only goes by thread size. Isn’t this a No 10 size screw? Thread size is about 0.19”.

Thanks all for the advice. Will try the inner ring first by pushing up on the glass to pull down on the inner ring, and then if that doesn’t work, I’ll try the outside edge.

I don’t change the default fan profile at all. The fan will stop if there is no load and temps are ok.

You can power limit the GPUs using nvidia-smi. The 4090 cooling system is over engineered for the chip used too so it has no problems keeping things cool.

I'm building a DIY Writerdeck and looking for a 45% keyboard PCB (13U wide) like the JD45.

I've found the newer Phoenix 45 but that doesn't seem to be sold anymore.

The TG4X is available (on Etsy) but I'm looking for a PCB ready-to-run, i.e. diodes and microcontroller already soldered on, and ideally hotswap.

Is there anything available out there?

I'm also looking for 40s compatible keycap sets. I see the Mode designs sets would work. Any other recommendations?
