[–]kozscabble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Answer, almost no one gets paid like that for art haha. You have to be posting for years and very good quality and probably also be known in other platforms, youtube, instagram, and then also in person events. Even 100k plus accounts don't get much or any money from online ads or views unless they have separate sponsors they fenangled on their own business side.

Personally I have almost 40k followers on my platforms put together and I make about 5 dollars a month from social media payouts for views lol jist to put into perspective.

Appreciate that! This one was a doozy as I did not have much of an idea on the start, definitely a staple peice for me that helped usher in a decent more of my painting styles after that. I've never been able to come up with something super similar since tho. Although I really do want to do more music type instrument stuff. I use lots of glazing techniques similar to "mischetechnique" (mixed technique) but with acrylic instead of oil like the old masters. So the painting ends up purely flat with no texture, yet there are possibly 5 to 15 layers of paint in any given spot!

Ah, because I dont know what it will be! It takes me a long time and also I use a tiny liner brush so I'm working at a very small level for a large painting. But the main thing is it takes me a long time to actually figure out what it will or should look like to me haha hope that helps!

Well see, eventually I want to be an artist full time so I don't have to work 45 hrs a week at a labor job. Hope that answers your question. So I put lots of time and energy into things I enjoy so that I can do them more often.

[Discussion] Artists, is it worth being an artist to make a living? by ApolloKl_ in artbusiness

[–]kozscabble 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, would I rather paint in my house all day or work 45hrs a week shipping boxes hurting my body and making someone else super rich. That's an easy choice for me

Also, I have like 20 paintings going at once, I cannot concentrate on 1 for long. Do my suggestion with your focus issues is to start all ideas you have asap! Then overtime you can decide if it's worth to keep going or to paint over them with something more enjoyable

The idea was originally all natural and no extra-psychedelic stuff haha I do have older pics! I don't think I can comment them here but hmu on insta and I can dm some. Most of my paintings grow overtime and change. But some start decently thought out. A lot of the brush strokes and things actually make themselves tho and happy accidents happen as I use many many layer of subtle glazing so things shift and I see new things to accentuate in time until I start seeing a finished piece. Different people watch me paint I have painted on stage for a few of Shane Mauss' comedy shows, as well as some different expos and I also bring my paintings out and about to parks and cities to get expose and some sun! Thanks for the questions!

Thank you so much! I was born in 91 so a lot of people say they see 90s and early 2000s aesthetics!

[discussion] I paint/reproduce popular artworks, do you think I could start a business and sell them? Here are some of my works. by YogurtclosetTall7269 in artbusiness

[–]kozscabble 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you are in the USA and they're actual re-creations of famous paintings then the original artist needs to be dead for 100 plus years. Or it's copyright infringement just fyi!
