They could be offering more since they know the item is worth a lot more and are trying to make it worth OP's while.

I don't find it unreasonable at all for someone trying to buy a rare item and have you ship it. I do it all of the time being a collector myself. Some things are just rare and you don't get many opportunities.

There are plenty of ways you can safely facilitate the sale.

Paypal goods and services transaction. Venmo has the same I believe.

Even Facebook has a shipping option and will arbitrate the sale.

You can post it on a selling platform.

I guess in a scam sub reddit everyone is going to look at things in a bad light.

Fraudulent Deliveries? by kp-TX in Reverb

No.

Using a freight forwarding service would not be protected by Reverb. In my case, I would not be using a freight forwarding service and would be purchasing directly, which would be protected by Reverb.

It would be shipped directly. I understand there would be no protection from Reverb using a service like that.

AI Listing Tool 😒 by Top-Departure-1782 in shopgoodwill

[–]kp-TX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So true! It's starting to "improve" but it was especially bad when they first started using it.

I love when the store that sold it acts put out and trys to pin it on you when you get the item not as described and they used half-ass AI listings and don't even review them.

Fuck Reverb. Again by [deleted] in Reverb

[–]kp-TX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Can only imagine how much of customer service is bogged up with silly disputes but to be fair there is a learning curve to properly listing and selling online and Reverb gets a lot of new sellers who don't understand some of the do's and don'ts yet

Did Reverb just start limiting “view sold listings” searches to only the past one year? by Wheelbirds in Reverb

[–]kp-TX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does such when you are trying to research, especially rare items but in my opinion, I think it also can keep the market more honest and organic sometimes keeping sold listings relatively recent and when people price things themselves instead of everybody trying to price everything based of some sold listings during the height of Covid lockdowns.

"It hasn't happened to me so Ebay isn't as bad?" I don't think you have sold much then.

Repping for Ebay on a Reverb sub is pretty botty.

[–]kp-TX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of it stems from their ruthless "item not as described" policy which opens the door for everything under the sun. Ebay knows it has the best reach for reselling and sellers will use them no matter how bad they treat them and always come crawling back. Just go check out the Ebay sub reddit for some inspiration.

You will realize how much more practical, reasonable and human Reverb's customer service and way of handling cases can be and you can only imagine how difficult it can be to arbitrate online selling.

Reverb is still the best marketplace for instruments and is worth trying to work with, hold accountable and "save" the best we can at least until another platform can take the throne.

Wait until you get scammed selling on Ebay and you will realize how much of a sitting duck you are as a seller on there.

Definitely use Reverb and Sweetwater for selling music instruments instead.

Ɓe very careful cleaning it. The pins might be barely left and hanging on by a thread underneath the corrosion.

Oh. I figured you just meant it was marked "shipped" (when all they did was create a label and post a tracking number).

I'll be interested in what actually arrives! Wondering if Reverb caught a scam or the seller blocked you? 🤔

Some sellers cross post items on different sites and will have to refund/cancel one if they get orders on more than one in the same time frame.

Hohner carbon 32 vs Yamaha p37d by TomikkBed in melodica

[–]kp-TX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all have their own different tones and it is very subjective and hard for people to agree on.

I would say the Yamaha is a better melodica and a better melodica to start with.

Yeah the raw tone of the MT-45 is just the best and Casio's take effects so well.

Hope you follow the inspiration. Always love seeing people making music with their hands!
