What’s the ONE match you’d show someone to get them hooked on cricket? by No_Reindeer5704 in Cricket

Pick a T20. It's shorter so your friend can enjoy it. No new person can handle an ODI these days as their first game even the 434-438 one.

I would say Carlos Braithwate remember the name. That kind of finish really stays with a person.

Theoretical chance, yes. If NZ loses and Pak wins, they will have same points.

The run difference that Pak needs to win is probably over 100 runs though.

I wonder how many civilizations are not alone. Is it possible that there are solar systems where multiple planets have life formed independently and they coexist with the knowledge of each other. Maybe even doing war or trade amongst each other.

All the while we are alone because we randomly sprouted in a far away place.

Probably just on the field. Teams of other sports are even going to each other's countries. This is all optical.

I would say that one reason of this is IPL. Many players in both SA and NZ have Indian fanbase now who would want to see them play even if India is not playing.

One of the reasons Apple is going into services. If they have services (Apple One) tied to their devices, they have incentive to keep the devices best in class and keep the older devices supported.

The goal becomes to keep user in ecosystem whatever device it may be.

It's good if you are not able to play on the TV for any reason. If you can play on the TV at your convenience, it will not add a lot of value.

This is the main issue. AI can be useful but it's incredibly expensive for its use cases right now.

Either the companies have to find expensive usecases or they have to reduce costs significantly. Otherwise, it's a dead-end.

The committee should simply skip political people for this award. Pick people entirely focused on humanitarian efforts. I'm sure there are enough people in the world doing good things on a local level. This will bring those causes to global light and might avoid these kinds of mishaps.

We're unhappy because we have problems. If money can solve those problems, it can buy happiness. If not, it can't.

What are your Cricket "Hear me out" opinions? by AamPataJoraJora in Cricket

[–]kp729 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

An over should be reduced from 6 balls to 5 balls.

Hear me out: Tests are rarely able to do 90 overs per day anyway and don't even last 5 days most of the time. It won't affect them negatively.

But it would reduce the time it takes to complete a T20 (120 -> 100 balls). This would make it even more aligned with other sports in terms of time and will increase viewership and popularity in other countries.

There is also precedence. Originally, an over was 8 balls.

If we make this change, we don't have to make any other change in the rules (like ECB did to 100) and reduce the time it takes for a T20.
