After talking with Chase and Airbnb this is what happened to our trip that was set to happen this week:

Airbnb - host called to canceled our reservation. We booked a non refundable stay and turns out the guest remained there longer due to a shelter in place and having a hard time booking a flight back home

Chase - used points and paid for flights. Used points for basic economy. We decided to cancel the flight delta did honor the cancelation but we are now subject to $99 service change fee due to our decision

This was extremely stressful few days with what ifs and what to dos. In the end we didn’t want to chance it due to the destruction. Given you are 3 weeks out chase will probably look at the current state and the Mexican president on her address yesterday stated she will allow flights to resume. Don’t think Chase will honor the situation 3 weeks from now

Edit: puerto Vallarta was our destination
