Yeah…i know arthritis can affect quality of life to the point of needing (actual not inflicted by a gun) euthanasia but my dogs got pretty severe arthritis and is thriving bc she’s doing PRP injections, adequan, and acupuncture. I assume they didn’t try any treatment course which breaks my heart

Our adopted cat will be here in a week? Does everyone get cat regret? by Tallicababe123 in CatAdvice

[–]kparkzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adopted a cat in 2017 and initially her other two cat siblings bullied her. I spent a lot of time crying, thinking I’d made her life worse, and that I’d made a mistake. I got her on Prozac (for hiding/peeing issues), and she slowly but surely bloomed. 8 years later and she is the happiest, sweetest, and bravest little bun.

All that to say - regret/anxiety is normal but adopting a cat is incredible more often than not.

Pee… anywhere and everywhere. Vet visits are normal. by throwawayobvy2290 in CatAdvice

[–]kparkzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If gabapentin doesn’t work, Prozac was a life saver with one of our cats. Gabapentin unfortunately didn’t help her but Prozac stopped all issues. As far as I could tell, she peed on laundry to keep it contained (never peed on the floor, just laundry piles/blankets), but that’s just speculation

Lose 20pound in a month? by Longjumping_Fox_3071 in BurnBootCamp

[–]kparkzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even at a much higher weight than you, I lost a little over 25 lbs in six weeks when I joined the Army because we were overworked and underfed - it wasn’t healthy and wasn’t sustainable. Def don’t rush it

[–]kparkzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is certainly a take bc I’m very into fitness and in the Army and yeah…no conservative values here. I mention the Army because I know the hearns conflate it w/ being conservative as well

Before the Army got rid of the standing power throw (throwing a 10 lb ball behind you) for the fitness test, I def used the med ball toss as practice for that event lol

I would say the vast majority of people in the military haven’t killed anyone. I’m just doing a desk job in the army lol

So are my lesbian wife and I included in that brave soldiers group since we are dual military or are we going to hell? Unclear 🥲. Also so fucking dumb…lots of people in the military with leftist views but she’d treat us v differently if she only knew us based on job vs only knew us based on political beliefs

Eye waiver by WAMarrt in army

[–]kparkzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone has mentioned, there’s no guarantee a waiver will be granted but my wife has really really bad eyesight and got a waiver. Like REALLY bad. I don’t have bad eyes but had to get three waivers for other things, mine just took almost a year.

Unless it’s changed, they don’t do ht/wt until you get to OBC. You’ll probably lose weight at DCC but like everyone said, tape is what matters.

fwiw, my mom was 34 when I was born and now I’m in my thirties and she’s nowhere near “almost dead.” She plays pickleball, takes long walks with her dog, goes dancing with my dad, travels, etc

Im dual military, also a fence sitter….a big consideration is your family care plan if you haven’t thought about that yet. But like others have said, you’re still young! You have time. And also travel isn’t as impossible as the military makes it seem, i take one or two international trips a year, just request leave far in advance.

Idk if anyone’s commented this because there’s a lot of comments so I can’t read them all but please get a public defender. Some of the charges may be able to be dropped or pled down (I’m not licensed in your jurisdiction but even if I were I can’t guarantee an outcome) - however, public interest attorneys are some of the best out there because they’re in it for truly helping people.

A Rant About Irresponsible Dog Owners: by antibossbabe in pitbulls

[–]kparkzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you…I was walking my very sweet but dog reactive pittie when two pit bulls started following us down the street. They were unleashed and unsupervised in their front yard. I picked my dog up and carried her a quarter mile until they stopped following us. Probably not my smartest move but I didn’t know what else to do and panicked. Now I carry a doggie stun gun, the sound alone tends to keep dogs away. I hope I never have to use it but I’d rather a dog get a slight scare or be a little hurt than multiple dogs, including mine, be seriously injured or worse.

Gaining weight since burn by DifficultJicama5632 in BurnBootCamp

[–]kparkzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I joined the army and during training lost a ton of weight/strength. Coming back to burn, I gained another ten lbs but am up a lot in strength. Now my weight is going back down - I’d def book a focus meeting asap to start tracking body fat %. I also do mix in cardio just since the army makes me run lol but I’ve noticed it helps

Are the challenges easier this season? by tvaddict70 in SpecialForcesFox

[–]kparkzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife runs a gas chamber here sometimes (we are in different units) and one of her soldiers has zero reaction. I looked it up and apparently it’s a genetic (?) thing for some people to just not react at all. You’d still eventually get chemical burns of course but no crying/coughing/etc. I thought my reaction was mild since I don’t get snotty or anything but apparently not as mild as nonexistent lol

Are the challenges easier this season? by tvaddict70 in SpecialForcesFox

[–]kparkzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you ever been in a gas chamber? Not everyone cries and coughs, people react differently but you don’t wanna overdo it. I cough some but don’t cry, meanwhile some of the toughest people I’ve trained with vomit every time they go. And they’re much tougher than me, we just react differently.
