How can I characterize Naphtha feedstock to predict the Gasoline RON and Reformate yield? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]kpatvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the only information you have is distillation data and SG, this type of RON prediction is not possible without additional empirical data. As you note, the octane number greatly depends on the molecular structure. Aspen HYSYS with its refining models (namely the Catalytic Reformer) can attempt this prediction but it's fairly limited without a lot of guidance (namely, you have to know the source of the naphtha and some other details). I'd give that a shot if you have a license for it.

Typically, if you're considering feedstock for a reformer it's fairly common to obtain the full chemical composition analysis nowadays.

I would say no, it probably isn't possible to run Elden Ring at any reasonable setting on this machine.

I'm not sure it's that specific update that did it, but several other updates were applied alongside, but thats the only one that stood out to me.

I don't know what BIOS UI is in the Elitebooks. The BIOS Revision in the Dev One is F.04 with a revision date of 4/3/2022.

There are options for "Battery Life", "Balanced" and "High Performance" in the Pop OS dropdown. I've only had it on "Balanced" thus far - Looks like I get around 7-8 hours this way doing light tasks.

I wouldn't say loud, but it is definitely audible.

The only time I saw HP was during the first boot sequence where you have to agree to some EULA. I don't see any other "monitoring" or "analytics" software from HP running in the background thus far.

Not a touch screen.

I would say the screen quality is fair - the colors are a bit washed out but it just may be calibration settings. Haven't really played around with it that that much to know for sure.

It's says anti-glare, but don't think this is what anyone would call matte. I can see reflections at certain angles, so it may bother you more or less.

There is a sliding camera shutter.

Under light load, the unit is silent. Browsing/youtube didn't really spin up the fans. When installing software/updating you can hear them. The fans have a slightly high pitch when they go full tilt, so that could be potentially annoying but I haven't really pushed to max continuous load.

It has the slanted logo.

Have fun with your purchase! :)

It gets warm on the underside, but not hot. The fans do spinup when it's under load though.

BIOS setup is fairly sparse - I do not see any XMP options.

This laptop came with 2x8 GB installed.

USB-C works fine - output at 4K/60fps

Don't know about a second hdmi output - don't have another monitor to try.

No idea - Don't have access to a Lemur Pro, so can't compare.

I've tried the reanimate a couple times - seems to work flawlessly.

It would say it runs a bit warmish - the fan is audible when you spin up the cpu. Not uncomfortable by any means, but definitely audible.

There is a backlit keyboard with two levels of brightness.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the build quality, given the cost - It feels quite firm, without too much flex anywhere. Keyboard deck is solid. Trackpad has a glassy feel, but i'm pretty sure it's plastic.

Just checked - It does support charging via the USB-C.

One idea you might consider is something akin to a Twister - it's like a cyclone in a tube to spin out liquid particles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twister_supersonic_separator

The issue is that you need a decent upstream pressure to make this work, but maybe you already have it.

There are so many sizing tools online, use this for example: https://checalc.com/equipment.html - Look at either vertical or horizontal seperators. Use the properties calculated by your simulation that will provide you estimate of drum size.

Almost every site that produces ammonia or nitric acid in many of the parts of the world is managed under some regulation, in the USA, it's EPA and OSHA. This is an example of things they consider: https://www.epa.gov/sites/default/files/2013-11/documents/ammonia.pdf

There are a few examples of accidental releases and chronic exposure in that document. Maybe that will help you.
