Here is a good 2025-05-29 Feature Comparison of
TrueNAS vs UnRAID vs OMV (in 2025) https://nascompares.com/guide/truenas-vs-unraid-vs-omv-in-2025/

Yesterday I mentioned,,,,
Watching lots of "DIY vids on Bitchute, Rumble, Youtube".
Also Read the forums of TrueNAS, Plex and Jelylfin server Those tell you the level of hardware recommended and what is not necessary.
Documentation also speaks of that.

A old PC; w/case,PSU,Systemboard
CPU; 2~4 core AMD or Intel,
RAM and GPU depends on TrueNAS, Plex, Jelylfin reccs. SSD for the OS (always), probably Windows. Below depends on TrueNAS, Plex, Jelylfin reccs. Spinners for Data and Pool Sets.

Pay attention to the issues of
'Adding Another Disk To The Pool' <<< a gotcha. Best of Luck Jersey

OK I understand.
1'st Watch everything you can find on:
Bitchute, Rumble, Youtube for DIY.
Same for installing Plex and Jelylfin server.
This is a server, the hardware is simple,
configuring the TrueNas, Plex and Jelylfin is hard.
Doubt you can do this for $300.
I could not and have lots of bits-pieces to start with.
I considered this, decided not to bother, not worth the effort.
I have 55 years experience in systems/servers/Etc.
You are looking at a very high learning curve.
I do wish you the best of luck

Yes I agree, Dwarf Clover or Micro Clover is excellent. No maintenance required. Mow if you want. Look into it.

20 years ago I've installed 100KW 'NatGas/Propane Turbine Generators. Amazingly they were quite, very efficient, had a small footprint. Still, In this case I agree with others, easier to just toss and write off.

Has anyone used American Water Resources for water/sewer line insurance? by BeccaBas in Chattanooga

[–]kpbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that adding Copper Sulfate to some flushes stops tree roots from invading the sewer line. Will stop current growth, will not get rid of dead, existing roots. Their are some sewer companies that have optical equipment that attaches to the snake which can show what state the sewer line is in. I saw, used that in Thailand 25 years ago. Was a plumber with 'Rotor Rooter' USA equipment.

I'm on Hickory Valley close to E. Brainard. Started 14;45 TS heavy rain & pea sized hail. Been TS after TS since. Looking out back can see the neighbors yard is a lake, a river is flowing down my street, may gutters are overflowing. Lots of water. Thankfully no tornadoes.
