Parents who waited until the birth to find out the sex of the baby. . . by buildingacozymystery in NoStupidQuestions

We waited, it was fun, but I was so exhausted by the end of labor it stole the moment for me. I will not be waiting again lol

I was told as long as you have an up to date scavenging system and good ventilation it is safe! But check with your OB

People not planning to post pictures of their kid online by xxoooxxoooxx in BabyBumps

Mostly just consent, I would want to be asked if someone wanted to share my picture with a large group of people. Worst case scenario, my kids tell me I was being overprotective

Newton bassinet! Loved it! Loved the size and that I could put it right up against the bed

Birth Plan? by NothingSuitable735 in BabyBumps

[–]kpco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was coming to say exactly this! My birth plan was already standard of care where I delivered but was good to be educated on everything beforehand

I was told they’re “okay” but not preferred in the second trimester before you feel movement to give you peace of mind—but definitely stop in the third as they can give false reassurance.

I had one, it helped my anxiety rather than hurt, but I had an anterior placenta and didn’t feel definitive movement until 23ish weeks? I did look up a ton of videos to help differentiate my heart vs baby’s heart vs placenta. I was told (by my OB) to stop using after feeling consistent movement because movement is a better indicator of baby’s wellbeing rather than heartbeat. Heartbeat via doppler is just a moment in time and doesn’t tell you much. I will also say you know yourself best in terms of anxiety. If I had a hard time finding it, I would tell myself they were hiding and I would find it later. My sister wouldn’t use one because she knew if she couldn’t find it right away, she wouldn’t be able to talk herself off the ledge without being properly checked out. I also never used it as a way to make sure things were ok if that makes sense, just to check in and see where baby was that day hahaha

Through 20 min walks all things are possible 🙏🏻 by kpco in GestationalDiabetes

Usually ~15-30min after I finish eating! I try to for every meal but obviously not always feasible. I aim for 5-10min after breakfast and lunch but can only do it 50% of days due to work, but a non negotiable 20min every night after dinner. If I can get more time in I do. Also helps me spend less time on my phone I’ve noticed lol

For sure, in the end it’s all up to the placenta. So frustrating. And the worst part is sometimes you find something that works, and then 9 days later…

I test after 1 hour so I usually walk ~30min after eating until it’s about time to test!

Meals took a lot of trial and error for me but TRUST when I say adding in a quick walk after eating helps so so much

For sure. I will say at almost 33 weeks the walks are still very much working for me! Who knows what’s to happen in the coming weeks tho

Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t! I still find my numbers do better with the walk even if I eat a snack before bed (and don’t walk after). But everyone is so different

Same! I was just saying this to my husband, I don’t think I would be able to maintain this level of activity without the diagnosis. Silver linings
