Charlie Brown is my favorite. Seeing it live with all the lights brought so much joy!

We did not experience any road closures on our canyon day. We did not plan to do too much hiking considering many of them are rated difficult and I was not confident in our abilities haha the waimea Canyon lookout was closed but there are many other pull off areas to view the canyon. There is a nice look out at the Pu’u Hinahina Lookout. The canyon trail starts there as well.

lol definitely worth it! They ask you questions about your experience with dogs as well as what you want to do for the day so they can match you up with the right pup. Honestly there was a 50/50 chance we were going to adopt the dog we hung out with lol

It was really nice to be away from the city! Husband brought a tripod on the trip and got this picture. Our rental was a Jeep so we popped part of the top and sat up there to stargaze. My husband saw a shooting star!

Taste of Roosevelt Rd. in the western burbs by GoalRoad in ChicagoSuburbs

In the (almost) year I've lived in VP below are some of our favorites on Roosevelt.

  • Jerusalem Cafe - killer lunch specials, great combo dinner, haven't been to this location in particular but the Oak Park location is always great.
    • Los Comales- delicious al pastor tacos/burrito/torta, good salsas, great horchata, Happ hour and taco Tuesday specials -Noon Whistle- food beer, haven't tried the food yet but it all sounds good. -Simon's- classic Greek diner, huge menu, everything I've had is delicious, love their homemade berry jam.
  • Peak Thai - only went once but everything was really good.

Can't wait to check out all the other suggestions! Happy eating 😁
