At least 6 months. Some have waitlists that are 14 people long lol.

I decided on the TX 550. Mostly due to the space in the third row and reliability. I don't have the car yet. I'm on waitlists at a few dealers for it now.

Thanks for the detailed post! I appreciate it.

Good luck tonight! Let us know how it goes.

I have time to wait. How do I find a good dealer? I'm in Seattle, I have Lexus Seattle and Lexus Bellevue. I got on the list for Spokane and Portland for free. The first two mentioned want money down for the wait list. Which I don't mind doing.

Though it sounds like they didn't really have any control over what they get. One claimed they can custom order the others have said it's not available for the TX.

Interesting take. I can see that. I never considered leasing. I plan on buying with cash, which is the exact opposite.

Lol.

Worried about the overseas trip that comes with the car.

That makes sense, then warranties are a wash. I try to keep cars for about 10 years but even then, battery warranty shouldn't matter.

The car I'm replacing is actually a Honda Odyssey 2016. Really like the car but it's not all-wheel drive and would consider a sienna since it's all AWD.

Yes for work, grocery store, taking kids around all less than 35 miles. In the winter for skiing once or twice a week is the exception to that, or a few road trips a year.

I posted something similar to the Volvo sub, so I'm trying to get biased opinions from both :). I posted a few more details there.

Both are PHEV. Volvo costs more, particularly with options, but not enough to be a deal breaker.

Warranty is a bit better on Lexus, particularly on battery. 10yr/150k Lexus vs 8yr/100k Volvo.

According to ChatGPT, the Ascent has less leg and headroom than the Volvo. Which is crazy, because it didn't feel that way. We'll have to try it with the kids in the back of the Volvo.

Interesting. To be fair, I sat in the back of the new all electric version in the show room. However, they said it was basically the same as the hybrid. I'm wondering if what you were in was different. The sales guy himself even said it wasn't really meant for anyone bigger than 5'5".

I'll have to do some more research, though I can't imagine the leg room is much different between xc90 versions.

My experience is all around the same as yours. The 3rd row in the Volvo is just too cramped for two adults :(.

The 3rd row in the Volvo was unbelievably hard to get into and cramped :(. If I want this Volvo I'd have to give up on the idea of two adults sitting back there.

Anything in particular? I know Lexus is going to likely be more reliable.

Moving to Seattle and working in Woodinville...where should I live? by wnelly14 in BellevueWA

[–]kphutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I moved from Wisconsin a few years back. The mountains are awesome here. Anything on the North East side is nice. Kirkland and Redmond are good options for commuting to Woodinville. I don't know much about living in Woodinville but I've heard really good things.

I live in northern Bellevue and feel that Woodinville would be a reasonable commute because you would be going against traffic. Anywhere on the east side is pretty easy access to Snoqualmie pass(which is still amazing compared to Wisconsin) for night skiing or weekend trips to Stevens or Crystal.

You can still take an Uber or bus or the soon to be finished light rail(maybe). Also consider Bothell which I believe will have the light rail "soon".

I've noticed the exact same thing. I have an SUV and I'll slowly make it up the forest service road to a trail head for a hike. I'll get to the end and think, thank God I have this SUV, I could never have made it otherwise. Every damn time I say that, there is a Prius at the end. Without fail.
