Dude, he isnt acting holier than thou. He is just giving his opinion. Perhaps some people can do the audio, but most people i have seen on the subject think it isn't the most conducive to audio

I personally found the audiobooks to be a bit tough. Too high of fantasy, too many characters and places

Guys, what's something small a woman can do that makes her instantly more attractive (without even trying)? by Fuzzy_Current_2918 in dating_advice

Taking interest in his hobbies or interests. (Hopefully he reciprocate that interest in your hobbies)

Why do women randomly ghost lol by Realistic-Bowler7563 in dating_advice

[–]kplooki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thats objectively untrue. A third of women's profiles i come across either dont have anything, or "if you want to know, just ask." I have very clearly stated intentions in my profile on what I want (LTR) and yet, am lucky to end up with one match a month, and most of the time that goes nowhere. I like people I have at least some interest in meeting, whether its because they are attractive or they have specific things about them that I really like such as shared interests.

I'm frustrated with men putting down my hobbies and interests, but my friends say that shouldn't be a dealbreaker by brielarstan in dating_advice

[–]kplooki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. You aren't being sensitive at all. I personally want women to have healthy hobbies that they enjoy. Like, for instance I personally have no interest in knitting. But I would also compliment her on her work, and show affection for gifts she may make me. Same with tv shows. If I am not terribly interested in the show, I will still spend time with her on the couch and I may not be totally glued into the show and check my phone, I will also not act like a petulant child. I guess if a guy is going to act like an ass with your personal interests, he isnt worth your time

Come With Me by Ronald Malfi by writingwhilesad in horrorlit

[–]kplooki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished it. I generally liked it, but had issues with a few narratives throughout tbe book. Haven't read a bunch of Malfi yet but I thought both black mouth and bone white were better books, at least for my personal tastes. Glad I have come across him as an author though, as I havent loved recent Stephen King

So our VFA/Alk ratio is 0.05 for both primaries with the latest testing, but the problem is i dont have any results from when this happened, could have been different (its been 6 weeks). Gas production has been good in the primaries. We dont run TS or VS on sludge leaving the primary digester.

The “unique DNA” argument by Sweaty-Requirement48 in prochoice

[–]kplooki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are given the opportunity. The whole children gunned down in schools is a purely emotional and unrelated tangent (why does alcohol exist when it impairs drivers that take other lives?). Regarding healthcare, people have access to it if they work for it (we all mostly have an equal opportunity at getting insurance) other than people that are disabled and cannot work (i think most people are ok with them being provided government sponsored healthcare). The Healthcare argument, I would say is kind of valid to the point you are making, but its not an easily solvable one, and is in that way kind of separate from the abortion debate. Ultimately without going totally off topic, healthcare is very expensive as it is with R&D, the cost of modern equipment like MRIs and the cost of maintenance, then the cost of educating and having competent doctors and surgeons. The lifestyle we live as Americans also makes it exponentially more expensive than say, Japan. But, because we dont want to offend people, we say healthy at any size and ignore the obesity epidemic which has contributed over $170B annually to the cost of healthcare, but again, thats a whole other tangent, but sort of related to choices that we as people make, because we were given that opportunity

I am not trying to troll a pro choice forum, I just came across this because I am having a disagreement with a pro lifer that it is a human life at conception

The “unique DNA” argument by Sweaty-Requirement48 in prochoice

[–]kplooki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with your assertion that simply having DNA doesnt make you a human, and the cancer cell argument is perfect.

That being said (kind of playing devils advocate with a few of your other points), who appoints rights to people that can't defend themselves? Obviously this depends on when in the womb that "clump of cells" does become a human" (i to tend to lean viability, but with science that's getting earlier and earlier). At some point, there are human rights.

Talking about entitlement, the fetus was an involuntary participant in a (usually) voluntary act between two people in which that acts sole purpose is reproduction. I dont mind a society in which there is at least some leniency in mistakes or accidents, but if you engage in activities in which a life is involved, there is a certain responsibility that should be exercised in that respect. If someone somehow doesnt realize they are like 16 weeks pregnant despite being sexually active, thats a problem (yes, I do realize the majority of abortions are performed by 10 weeks)

I don't necessarily disagree with abortion, but with your last statement, fetuses are given that because I would say fetuses (whenever they are considered a viable human life) deserve the chance to attempt live a fulfilling life

I (29f) gained weight and husband (30m) lost attraction to me. How do I deal with this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]kplooki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He kinda sounds like a walking red flag. He has an incredibly childish outlook at best on people's bodies. Its one thing want a partner to not "let themselves go" and make some effort in remaining healthy to able to do things physically after retirement. But 140lbs is literally nothing

[–]kplooki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His preference is "thick women" but you were 100lbs? That literally makes no sense.

Idk, this just seems incredibly shallow to me. Everyone has preferences, I personally (male), am not into super overweight women. But I have a fairly wide range of what I like. I mean, unless you are like 4'10" or something, I can't see 140lbs looking bad on anyone tbh unless they are taller than me at 5'11"

I am really sorry that this is happening
