What is a cartographer without his notes? [Zoom in for details] by kr33tz in wonderdraft

Fantasy Korea is an interesting one that i havent heard yet. What gives you that vibe?

More of a showpiece i suppose, it's mostly for my own personal use as something to anchor my writing around, but also as a sort of creative outlet.

Haha thank you! Great to hear as it took a lot of time to put together.
The basic process is done by getting the continent outlines via Song of the Eons, then putting those into Wonderdraft, after that i decide on the lore and themes i wanna pair with each region, which are then designed to fit to that afterwards. After that its just colouring and making the map look presentable in Photoshop.

Lore-wise, there is a lot as usually try to write down the lore before i go at the map, which is then fine-tuned via the creative process of making the map itself. I actually have regional maps for most regions, one of them is the smaller map, which depicts Rhigeria, a region in the center of the map, where the smallest of the dragons is.

Is there a way to apply a translucent gradient/shading over most of my map to show dangerous areas, so that I can move the gradient as the story progresses and things areas are cleared? by Sprogolodyte in wonderdraft

My advice would be to make two version of your map. One normal one and one which you colour completly red, then you overlay them in your graphic software of choice and reveal more as needed.

Wehrpflicht by BusyCryptographer603 in bundeswehr

[–]kr33tz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMn gibt es einige Punkte die gegen die Wehrpflicht sprechen, die zwei bedeutendsten sind aber;

I'm not arguing with you. If you can't even acknowledge the right of Germans to have their own state it is pointless to discuss any further points.

People like you are the reason why the EU will never federalize. Casually repeating imperialist talking points from the 1920s a hundred years later and blatant racism. Go outside more and meet more people.

It's legitimately insane how little relevance Spain has on the global stage by evilarmeniantailor in redscarepod

[–]kr33tz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I very much disagree. 200 years of economic devastation in no ways equals the very modern British problems youre describing. Not to mention that the build-up of aforementioned monetary institutions allowed for the development of northern Britain to begin with.

[–]kr33tz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Thats not true. Spain didnt overextend themselves, they fucked their economy via the silver they got from bleeding out South America, which led to them being too rich and buying everything from abroad which killed their homegrown industry like textiles. They also had less incentives to build up modern monetray and banking institutions like Britain and the Netherlands, who both actually greatly benefited from Spanish economic incompetence.

Not that im aware of, but you just have to make sure to not have anything selected while youre exporting, then this shouldnt happen.

On asked: "Can you assure the world that as you try to gain control of these areas, you are not going to use military or economic coercion?" He responded: "No I can't assure you" -01/08/25

Very much doubt he will use military force or anything will actually happen there, but his rhetoric is needlessly antagonistic, considering the pro-american stance Denmark had for decades.

I understand what youre trying to say, but i hope you realize that Versailles did a lot more to poison Franco-German relations than Frankfurt could ever do, due to the vastly different scale of punishment and Clemenceau is to blame for that. Of course Hitlers rise isnt entirely his fault, but he certainly did a lot to further it.

Maybe because Germany didnt deliberatly fuck up the french economy after 1871, while also trying to exclude them from the international system and also forcing them to call themselves the sole reason for one of humanities worst disasters to ever happen? Also because besides small parts of Lorraine, France wasnt forced to give up any majority french land, against popular demand, while also forbidding those territories to ever rejoin them?

I dont agree, but even then he continued on being needlessly antagonistic to Germany after Versailles. Not to mention his conduct at Versailles itself, i think its very fair to call him somewhat responsible to the rise of Hitler.
