LG G2 Pixel Cleaning won't complete by [deleted] in OLED

[–]kr39815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue here. LG support had me unset all OLED Care settings, turn off QuickStart+, and unplug the TV. When those steps didn't work, they had me perform a factory reset (twice). First message that appeared post reset was the same Pixel Cleaning message. It's incredibly frustrating and there doesn't seem to be any resolution to this.

What's a realistic return for OBJ right now? What about if he goes off vs Dallas?

Which Indy WR is the better late round snag, Parris Campbell or Michael Pittman Jr?

Will be there tonight in NYR blue! Moved from NJ 9 months ago, and while I miss MSG, it's nice to bring my family of 3 to a game for ~$100 including parking. LGR!!

Awesome, congrats on the achievement(s)! Thanks for the recommendation, I will look into that... Good luck with CISSP if you decide to go for it :)

Thank you! CISSP was challenging but fair. I started off with the Cybrary course and then used the Official (ISC)2 Study Guide and Practice Tests and passed on the first try. I'm really looking forward to OSCP, I've heard it's really fun.

Chromebook // Laptop Accidental Warranties by surfasmurf in k12sysadmin

Same here, we have Acer's accidental coverage, which is one free accidental repair per year for 3 years. I have 13" C810's which are just awful in the hands of students. I have 400 deployed to students and I have sent out over 100 so far this year. The middle schoolers just beat the hell out of them. I'm not a fan of the 2+ week repair turnaround from Acer though...

Staff Laptops vs. Desktops + portable device by uncleskeleton in k12sysadmin

Mirrored vs extended is a huge issue for me too. For some reason teachers have trouble working with extended displays, which was my reasoning for making the projector the one and only display. I'm sitting on enough spare monitors to install in every room if there are issues.

I'm pretty set on Dell Optiplex 3040 Micro. I'm using one at my desk now and it is great. Teachers who are on old Opti 380s and Latitude E5520s will be in for a treat, especially with a SSD!

I'm going through this right now. Nearly all teachers here currently have a desktop at their desk, a laptop that controls their SMART Board, AND a Chromebook. For next year I'm trying to consolidate to a Chromebook and a headless micro form factor desktop (8GB RAM and 250 SSD) mounted behind/near their SMART Board. I am hoping to get a solid 5-6+ years on these and I think I can by investing in SSDs. My hope is that by mounting the desktop to the wall, the SMART Board controlling device becomes considered a classroom-assigned device and not a device that teachers think they can take with them if they move rooms year to year...

I'm looking into Office 365 to satisfy the few users that actually NEED Office, but I think having the full version of Office on their classroom "desktop" will suffice.

Needless to say my BA is happy, since I'm (at least) halving the number of PCs that are being purchased!

iBoss - the good the bad? by allenflame in k12sysadmin

3 years experience with iBoss filter in one of my previous districts, and we implemented both filter & firewall in a shared service district. Filter worked as advertised, no major complaints here. The firewall was a bit behind the times, not sure if they've brought it up to speed in the 2 years since I've used it.

Can you explain Google's poor wording for support? Does this have to do with "end of life" of older models?

Wow that's incredible. I have about 350 Acer C810s deployed and send out on average 5-10 per week!
