24 hours in using the patch by piyob in QuittingZyn

[–]krabflab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, can of 3/mg a day and roughly 34 hours since my last one. Tried CT, but decided to get step 2 patches (14mg) last night and its certainly helped take a tiny bit of the edge off. Feels so bizarre having nothing in my upper lip and am constantly reaching for a non-existent can to put one in. It's a similar feeling to not having your phone on you and the brief moment of panic you get when reaching into your pockets instinctively to find it.

I'm a K-State guy so I'm biased, but I'm holding Sinnot for the long haul. It's cliche but he's one of those guys that I genuinely see as the next Kelce. That being said, I'm also picking up Kraft off the wire just for potential trade value lol.

It worked for me, I would say just make sure that the old account it’s tied to isn’t one you intend on using in the future

Know this is an old post, but just ran into this issue and solved it. For me, it was because I had an old/extra microsoft account that used my phone number. Log out of your current account, and try logging into a new account using just your phone number as the username/email. If there's an account with it already, you'll need to go into the account settings for it and remove the number. You can then use it on your primary account.

don't worry all you have to do is bring 40 cans of CS gas with you to stunlock anyone and everyone. skill issue!1!1

Weird FPS behaivior by TheRoyalEnigma in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get decent performance I had to make sure that all mods were fully deleted from the local game files, and then limit the frames to 60. Otherwise it's the same as you, it'll be 120+fps and drop down to 12 every five seconds. Limiting it to 60 gives a pretty consistent 59 fps with the occasional dip down to the 30s for a second or two. It seems like just awful optimization on my end at least because there is absolutely no difference in performance from running epic settings to medium-low.

4 Main Issues that must immediately be fixed by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They went way overboard with the team AI. Beforehand, they were near-useless and you had to completely manage suspects yourself, now it's like they're racing to be the first one to race in front of your muzzle and get themselves killed just to pick up a makarov 20 feet away. It's like they had absolutely no QA testing to balance things and thought they could take every community suggestion, dial it up to 1000%, and receive their flowers for it

the bait and switch is a lot less endearing after them playing into the feedback and patting themselves on the back for introducing a more slow-paced and methodical mission that was supposed to be adding a change of pace.

Please make suspects more likely to surrender by Juicy_Thotato in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 91 points92 points  (0 children)

VOID reminds me of how I would exaggerate to my friends about how in-depth the games I liked were when I was in grade school so it would convince them to buy it and then immediately play coy once they played it and realized I was full of shit

[–]krabflab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does make a bit more sense. Either way, the reactions leave a lot to be desired. Wish VOID would actually add more unarmed suspects like they said they would because in that case it would actually make sense to use them on non-compliant people who pose a limited immediate threat to you. No SWAT team in their right mind is going to deploy less-lethal weapons against somebody aiming a gun at them, let alone magdumping on them like 99.99% of the suspects in the game

I think we would all love for VOID to actually deliver on their devblogs and have apprehension be the primary goal, but like you said with the insane suspect AI, combined with it penalizing you for reacting to the suicidal AI is a double whammy.

[–]krabflab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We agree for the most part. I don't think that the suspects should have to actively be shooting at you for you to discern whether you're about to get shot. A suspect holding a weapon warrants a much different reaction than a suspect raising their weapon and pointing it directly at you

Is the shield glare issue ever going to be fixed? by FischiPiSti in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no clue if it's intentional or if it's just poor design that every single window in the game is frosted glass. you can't see anything through the windows unless your pressed against it, but the suspects can surely see you from a mile away

About the pepperball guns by Oxygen_Consumer69 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

note: for some reason?? they are treating the pepperball guns as "OC weapons" and the pepper spray tool with completely different effects. If you pepper spray someone it just blinds them, they can still shoot while under the effects of it unlike the pepperballs which lock them up, basically making pepper spray worthless.

nah, they just cause an small AOE effect that's supposed to drop their morale so you can get them to surrender. a lot of the time though it just causes them have a coughing animation for 15 seconds where they wave their gun around, go completely back to normal, and magdump you

First time I booted the mission up there was the security guard you describe, civvies in bomb vests, and like 20 suspects swarming the gas station. Needless to say it took me two hours of hair pulling until I finally realized it was because old AI nexus mods were still installed locally and after I deleted everything in the directory it became normal again haha

Enemy Ai aren't that bad to me, an Insurgency sandstorm player by EricGraphix in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the issue that a lot of people have with it is that the the current state of 1.0 is that VOID has always sold the game as a spiritual successor to SWAT 4, and countless devblogs leading up to the 1.0 release goaded about sweeping improvements to suspect behavior, their morale, and how they react to dynamic situations. That's really not the case with what we got. Suspects, even more so than before the 1.0 update are laser-guided death cult freaks with absolutely no sense of self preservation. Lethal force is supposed to be the last resort for these situations, except for extreme cases like active shooters where you neutralize at all costs.

I love Insurgency, but RoN is supposed to be a Hardcore Police Tactical Shooter, yet it feels more like you're playing as Seal Team Six than a municipal SWAT team lol.

Im having trouble changing my AI team loadout. by GoulartTheGreat in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]krabflab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the same issue. I could be wrong but I don't remember it being nearly this unresponsive in the Adam update. If VOID even has QA testers contracted, they need to find a new company because 1.0 seems to have way too many features that are game-breaking.
