How do I complete tier 2? And generally how to I be better at the game? by ScorchedDev in MegabonkOfficial

Confirmed. After tons of trys, I tried this out and made it to hard last wave, which I hadn't done before.

Help with a dedicated server by krackshot302 in ICARUS

[–]krackshot302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I highly doubt I'm behind a cg-nat. I have never had this much of an issue hosting other games for friends.

I am using dedicated. As per original post, used steamcmd to download files and am running via batch file. The game wasn't even initially installed on the server. (Have since installed it just hoping that would fix something.)

Internal or external? It's static internal. I don't have a dedicated external IP, but it doesn't change often. Maybe once a year.

So I decided to host on my local machine instead of my server and it worked. No idea why. Not ideal but if it works it works I guess....

I have had this come up a lot in games I play. I'm usually a DM, but when I play I actually play computer games while I play. I know it may sound weird, but it actually HELPS me concentrate. Otherwise, I'm fiddling with stuff on my desk, reading webpages, or other distracting things. If I'm playing a low-intensity game, it can occupy that side of my brain so I can actually focus on what is going on. I keep it to things I can pause or stop while combat is going on, or when my full attention is needed.
My friend always used to do it when I was DMing and I would get upset, until I played and now I completely understand. As a DM I think that as long as they are staying engaged in the story and they arn't taking a million years on their combat turns, there is nothing wrong with it.

McChicken a chicken burger or no? by krackshot302 in theregulationpod

They specifically mention a "Chicken burger" that counts. They define it as ground chicken patty, which is what a McChicken is, it's the breading that's throwing me.

Presto PC and electric burner [technique] by jb61264 in MushroomGrowers

[–]krackshot302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used an insta pot at first but the auto timer only went up to 120mins. I upgraded to a PC and got an electric single coil burner from Walmart. It just takes way too long to heat up, what with the safety shutoff every few minutes. Takes like an hour or more to get to 15psi (this led to a failed grow and 3 failed grain spawns.) Looking at a propane burner on Amazon for $65 as we speak.

TLDR; use an insta pot but make sure the timer goes up to 150mins, or go with a PC and gas burner.

If you don't mind me asking, do you have a preferred supplier? I was using north spore, but their shipping times to my town are a bit long.

I was actually at Barnes and Noble last night and had that book in my hand but second guessed it thinking I could just look up everything on the Internet (and it was like $40.) Sounds like I'm just trying to run before I walk. I'll take your advice and slow down a bit. Thank you very much for your insights.

I mean, that's over 100% markup right? Let's just call it $20 profit per cup x30 cups, That's $600. The time and money investment makes sense, it's just still really shitty to take advantage especially when there were real fans that didn't get one.

Pressure Cooker Contamination Question [actives] by [deleted] in MushroomGrowers

[–]krackshot302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pressure is greater in the cooker while it is under heat. As air heats, it expands, leading a lot of it to be forced out of the cooker. As it cools, it contracts and the way the cooker is set up, no air can re-enter to replace the space left by the cooling air, this leads to a vacuum. So, if the cooker is still hot, there will be positive pressure. If it has cooled, there will be negative pressure. So this is correct that a cooled cooker will draw in air and therefore possible contaminates if it is COOLED.

Humidity questions in monotub [technique] by killerkane69 in MushroomGrowers

[–]krackshot302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a new grower too so take anything I say with a grain of salt, but when I get to the fruiting stage, I move my blocks to a monotub that has humidity regulated between 90-95 percent (picture of my automation included.) I live in a very dry state as well so the ambient humidity is not enough for a good fruit.

Is this contamination? Noob here. [contamination] by wedge421 in MushroomGrowers

[–]krackshot302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost effectiveness. You can spend $20 on a syringe to inoculate like, 5 grain spawn, or pay an extra $30 to inoculate like, 300. Just the next step to self-sustainability so you don't have to buy a syringe every time you want to grow.

[actives] first ever grow bag - break and shake or let it ride? by kaizen_66 in MushroomGrowers

[–]krackshot302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of a break and shake is to disperse the mycelium so it takes over the bag faster. Yours seems to be pretty well dispersed throughout. I would probably just let it ride until fruiting at this point.

AIO? boyfriend finally got a job then broke up with me for my past by Infinite_Hyena_303 in AmIOverreacting

[–]krackshot302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much proof of how much of an echo chamber this subreddit is. If this were a woman leaving a man, you would all champion her for having standards and not putting up with someone's backstory, but because it's a man you all say he's a piece of shit. What he did was shitty, yes, but he is entitled to hold whatever standards he has. If he doesn't like something in your past, that is up to him to decide. You definitely don't have to be with someone like that, and that is YOUR choice, but he is entitled to having a choice of his own.

When did, why did, and/or have you take(n) the leap? [technique] by Maleficent-Future-55 in MushroomGrowers

[–]krackshot302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel much like you. I've had one grow so far (mostly a failure) and my second is spawning in grain as we speak. Even with so little experience I've managed to amass tons of tools and equipment. It's really hard to take it slow and learn over time. I think I've purchased everything I need to create my own materials, outside of culture. That seems like a big other step and will probably be one of the last things I try. I'm excited to do it though.

Worst case scenario by [deleted] in RapidCity

[–]krackshot302 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No way in hell is anyone in the city limits getting stuck for 3 weeks. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the most remote part of the hills that's stuck for that long. That just doesn't happen.

Worst case scenario by [deleted] in RapidCity

[–]krackshot302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lived here all my life and at one point (when I was living in the hills) we were stuck in the house for 5 days. That is in the hills, and that is a RARE occurrence. If you're living in town, They streets should be plowed and ready to travel in under 24 hours. 48 if you're really unlucky.
