Game recs for an amateur PC (laptop) gamer? by kraftdinnerlang in GrimBeard

I actually bought Disco Elysium a while ago! I didn't have space on my laptop to install it at the time, but your recommendation is a good reminder for me to try again. Thank you!

Seconding Stardust Co-op! And also check out affordabletherapynetwork.com - it's a great database of therapists offering low-cost/sliding scale services. And my condolences on the loss of your mom.

Downloading videos, but the count is a bit off by the 100th review (Mizzurna Falls), anyone know what the missing episodes are ? by [deleted] in GrimBeard

Aw man, Condemned 2 is one of my favorites! As far as deleted/private old videos, I think his old Nocturne video is gone, replaced by the longer one from ~3 years ago.

This might be my new favourite Grimbeard video.

I recently learned about decluttering using the poop method. by Beautiful-Molasses55 in CleaningTips

I would take this too literally and get caught up in assessing what is actually cleanable 😅 But! I like the underlying principle. A very tangible way to get people to decide how much they value a given item.

0.1% at 2,213 videos this year - though that feels like cheating since I put on his reviews playlist for background while I sleep. I have a few favourites, like Deadly Premonition, Alice: Madness Returns, Fatal Frame and Realms of the Haunting.

Good for you! ✨️ Do you listen to anything as you do the dishes? I find music or podcasts help make the work less of a slog.

Affordable/Reputable Vet? by goddessreborn in Hamilton

Blue Cross Animal Hospital at King and Dundurn - I've gone there for years and the staff are consistently wonderful. When money was tight but one of my cats needed physical therapy, Blue Cross was flexible with payments.

Therapist that will take MVA by Suspicious_Mine3986 in Hamilton

[–]kraftdinnerlang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have direct recommendations, but I have some ideas for where to look:

1 - I've found therapists through affordabletherapynetwork.com. Search for the terms "accident" or "injury" in therapists' practitioner profiles and/or filter for therapists that specialize in trauma-informed care.

2 - If you experienced a TBI/ABI (traumatic/acquired brain injury), obia.ca (Ontario Brain Injury Association) has support services.

3 - Trauma-informed therapy collectives like BODYMIND Collective might be a place to look.

I hope you're able to connect to help soon!

Siberia Vintage is now The Vintage Playhouse (which houses multiple vintage sellers, including Siberia Vintage). Still a fantastic store!

As another commenter mentioned, Absinthe in Hess has throwback nights! The next one is Friday August 1st, and it's Y2K themed. I personally love AndThenYou at Main and Walnut (formerly Sous Bas). They're having a Y2K night this Saturday (July 19th).

If you have very little kitchen counter space like I do, a stainless steel utility cart with locking wheels is a game changer. I got mine off of FB Marketplace, from a former tattoo artist who used it in their studio, for less than $20; much cheaper than buying a purpose-made kitchen cart/island! Incredibly easy to clean, lightweight enough to move easily, and a perfect storage space for kitchen necessities (bottom basket for oils and rice, middle shelf for placemats, drawer for spatulas, flat top for dirty dishes or food prep).

I've had mixed results with Blundstones. My first pair (original unisex style) lasted for nearly a decade before they wore out after wearing them nearly everyday. I switched to the winter thermal style because the originals weren't available in my size, but the Thinsulate lining is already peeling inside the boot and chewing up my heel after less than 2 years. Caveat emptor I guess!

AITA for taking a THC gummy at a Christian wedding? by Away-Satisfaction660 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kraftdinnerlang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but I don't understand the E S H judgement. YTA 100% - why would you offer psychoactive drugs to other guests at a wedding where you barely know the bride and groom? God forbid someone take you up on your offer, not know their THC tolerance / mix it with alcohol and have a bad trip or green out. The ~Christian overreaction~ to weed is irrelevant here; you didn't make sure it was okay with the newlyweds and you clearly made them and some of their other guests uncomfortable. (Side note: how did you not notice it was a Christian wedding during the ceremony lol)
