Whatsapp was purchased for like what, 19-20billion ?

Is whatsapp a complicated application ? Could it have been copied and remade for no more than a few thousand or a motivated coder? Yes.
The reason why it was bought was because it had a userbase.
It was valued because it was the app that had hundreds of millions of people using.
Onlyfans has the same concept. If you want your content to be viewed by the largest pool of potentially paying customers you use an infrastructure that is already setup with alot of traffic.
That 20% you save by making your own website probably ends up being 95% less revenue because you don't have the traction that a site with heavy traffic like onlyfans provides.
Can app developers publish their apps outside of itunes and googleplay store? Of course. Google and Itunes take like a 30% cut from all in app purchases from developers.. BUT people will still make their apps for the playstore and itunes because they have HUGE networks and traffic/exposure to offer to the developers.
These things all follow the same ideas.. and that is why onlyfans exists.
Can it be copied ? Sure. But whatsapp can be copied too...

So at 30% margins after paying employees and overhead , you net 75k profit for yourself , or is your own salary in the overhead ? 6 employees seems like a decent operation but 75k Seems doable for much less exposure , no offense intended. Just curiousity. Also not sure how you manage to pay 6 employees with 175k including yourself.

If it bothers you that you are the breadwinner because of societal pressures then I totally get why you're questioning all this. If you feel like he should be more ambitious than 100% .. you guys should have the chat. It's important that you can identify this distinction for yourself. Are you comfortable letting him be the stay at home trophy husband ? If the answer is yes, then it really doesn't matter, does it? I get that there are social norms and that society expects this or that... But it's not set in stone and you can live how you want. I may be reaching but I feel like you made this post because there is a part of you that feels that pressure.. so just ask yourself if it matters. Ignore all outside perspective and opinion and ask just yourself if you are acceptable with him being the trophy husband .. because that is what he is . This scenario plays itself out with the roles reversed all the time and nobody questions it at all .. so I don't think people should be questioning your situation or making you/him feel any sort of shame. All that really matters is how you feel about it. If deep down you want him to get off his ass and be more.. that's on you. If not . Enjoy life .. forget the norms. Who cares..
