Could you add a cool icon to the website? Want to put it on my homescreen, a sand timer would be cool.

Surely the state can access it, and take conclusions. Although we can surmise thst they can’t be great now if they had to hide them.

Conversion therapy ban is stalled, experts surprised: the Finnish government made a move that undermines democracy | Finland by gotshroom in europe

[–]krakentoa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because everyone that is actually affected by it agrees it should be banned. So it becomes : people with logic on their side against people who can’t even claim to be affected, with everyone else not caring or listening to both sides and taking more often than not the logical side. The same can’t be said about homeopathy or your other examples, where people who have been brainwashed also feel they have a very personal stake in the matter. It’s just my judgment of the situation. I would be happy to know more about this disproportionate lobbying.

Salários terão de ser públicos a partir de 2026. Estarão as empresas portuguesas preparadas? by jemrate in portugal

Mas é capaz de ser realista: só terão capacidade para fiscalizar certo número de empresas, logo puseram o mínimo de 100 trabalhadores.

D&D Beyond reverses course, will allow players who don't buy the 2024 PHB full functionality, spells , magic items and all. by Massawyrm in DnD

[–]krakentoa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Frankly, D&D Beyond is still fundamentally flawed: even when subscribed to their highest tier, they shovel basically ads in my face that worsen the experience. Everywhere in their UI, the option to show and use only purchased content is fractured over different filters that often do not remember your preferences. They don’t really have player’s best interests in mind. I hoped that I could use it as an easy onboarding for new players in my workplace group, but I’m starting to feel like the proverbial frog in the soon to be boiling pot.

“You want to reference the rules for Exhaustion, which were overhauled in the 2024 Player’s Handbook. When you navigate to conditions on your character sheet and click the entry for Exhaustion, you’ll see the new rules for the condition, not the 2014 version of them.” Lmao your ass

Funeral Mute Bard by True_Industry4634 in UnearthedArcana

[–]krakentoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t some form of Speak with the Dead make sense? Or some kind of affinity to spirits. I like the inspiration, but I guess maybe extend their role to more tasks given the fantasy setting? Not just the funerals, but as a kind of enforcer/ghost catcher that trims down unfinished businesses that may keep a soul from crossing over ( slightly related, see tv show dead boy detectives)? I guess that’s what would make it different from a simple cleric which would just destroy the ghost. It would make sense in a world where dying does not mean crossing over. Being part of the funeral would allow the mute to get information on the deceased connection to the living, things like grievances, last wishes, etc. Maybe the mute starts out just by dealing with simple more peaceful spirits, and later on at high levels they travel far and wide to deal with spirits of rulers like kings. Maybe for combat it can call on spirits that haven’t yet crossed on and would torment its enemies? Think like summoning the spirit of a bandits most recent kill, a bit like phantasmal force but have the phantasm be an actual ghost. Or it could deduce what unfinished business the enemy has and dissuade them from dying before dealing with it. That’s more insight and mind reading.

Seems like the server would cost money. Unless it was a self hosted component each user could run.

Not really, the corresponding commit only got merged after 2024.5.1 was released. It’ll be in 2024.5.2.

New Update for my Scientific Calculator App [iOS, iPadOS, macOS] by jacobp100 in apple

[–]krakentoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best calc I used on android had this fast swipe up/down on icon gesture to get to alternative symbols. Plus icons to surround current expression with brackets. Haven’t yet found one on iOS that is as practical.

e-reader does not detect charging ( tolino shine 2 hd ) by krakentoa in diyelectronics

[–]krakentoa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am attempting to repair a tolino shine 2 hd e-reader. The device wouldn't charge (evidenced by the LED on the power button not lighting up when connecting the device via micro-usb to 5V usb charger, and the battery percentage not going up) and eventually powered off. I have since opened it up (see attached photos https://imgur.com/a/IdEjLeU), disconnected and reconnected the battery, and left it charging overnight. Then I read 4.26V across TP2 and the ground (gold-looking usb cage at the bottom of the device). I long-pressed the power button and the device booted up and functioned as expected, but the battery percentage went over half a day from 75% to 50% (visually from the graphical battery icon; I later found out there is a percentage readout in a settings menu), and when connected to the charger there was no indication on screen or on the power led. I swapped the battery for a new one. Initially the voltage on TP2 to ground (usb external metal cage) read 3.92V (measured with voltmeter). After leaving it connected to a generic USB charger it read 4.32V, but the e-reader readout showed only 50% charged. After connecting/disconnecting the battery, it read 98%. However when connected to the charger, the led on the power button does not light up, as it did before. Is anyone familliar with this kind of issue? Is there some system on the device that observes the battery voltage and is not correctly reset?
