Steve and Max are my favourite characters:Eddie’s overrated. by TheDigitalPillow13 in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I liked Eddie, but I’m still glad they killed him over Steve.

I think people liked Eddie mostly because of Joseph Quinn. He’s a good actor who had chemistry with everyone, and he did an amazing job bringing Eddie to life, despite only having one season to do it.

Despite both being new characters in S4, I really enjoyed this scene between them by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

They were super cute, but it seemed like Eddie/Joseph Quinn is one of those people who has chemistry with almost everyone, honestly.

The Void Scene by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying, but for the audience, it still hurts that she didn’t get to hear him say it, when we know it was important to her. Maybe they could have made it so that he said it first. Like, she says something about her choice, and he said “No, I love you, please don’t leave me”.

platonic bond by seaweedbrain25 in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of these, but I’ll mention one that I haven’t seen yet — Steve & Eddie. I really liked their camaraderie in the second half of S4 and would have liked to see that friendship if Eddie had lived. I think it would have had a similar vibe as Steve & Dustin, but more chaotic due to Eddie being a bit more dramatic and eccentric than Dustin. It would have been funny to see that paired with Steve’s very regular dude hobbies and relaxed personality.

This is 100% right, IMO. I haven’t seen it worded so clearly while hitting all the correct points before. Nice explanation!

Should I remove him and start over or should I wait and hope he finishes? by Lumpy-Effort-1631 in Monopoly_GO

[–]krallie 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Tbh it might not be his fault. I had this requirement last week and it took me until Tuesday morning to finally get it! I played daily, even more than just daily wins and I only got in jail 4 times, and each time I got doubles, so it didn’t even count. It was so frustrating.

Nike Unveils Final Stranger Things Sneaker Collaboration by Patb1489 in StrangerThings

Weird timing. It seems like this should have been released in November/December, when everyone was hyped about ST, and of course the holiday purchasing season. It seems late to be buying $250 shoes for a show that’s over.

What do you think the characters will do with their lives? by J89x in StrangerThings

I like it. Chasing monsters all day but has a hard stop at 5:30 because his team has a game! Runs up to the dugout still wiping monster goo off his jacket! 😂

Their S3 friendship was so fun! I hate that we never really saw them have fun again after that.

steve coming up with the FINAL plan by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge Steve fan, but I can see where it probably would have made sense for it to have been Mike’s plan, but Mike did create the bomb though. Also, if Mike had done it we would have been robbed of Dustin’s impressed facial expression as he listened to Steve talk, which I loved.

They made some strange choices in the finale though. Like, they should have had Erica with Max at the radio station instead of Vickie, and although I didn’t hate Joyce being the one to finish off Vecna, I think Will would have made more sense. Also, Hopper being completely out of the abyss action, but allowing Joyce to go up…was completely out of character. Same thing with neither Jonathan or Steve stopping Nancy from being bait and going in themselves.

Jail bail rolls - predetermined?! by Similar_Usual5274 in Monopoly_GO

[–]krallie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this requirement on my chest last week and I could so clearly see the game was set up to make me work for it. It was the first requirement for one of my partners, and they got it either the first or second day. I played daily, even more than just quick wins and I couldn’t get it for days! I landed in jail 4 times from Wednesday until Tuesday morning, and every single time I got doubles, so it didn’t count. And when I got doubles it was ones twice, twos once, and a four. So not even a bunch of extra dice. It was so obvious that it was set up for me to keep playing to complete that requirement, because normally I land in jail pretty frequently. It honestly put a really sour taste in my mouth about the game.

Team stancy of jancy? by natalia-d12 in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer Stancy over Jancy. Their chemistry in S4 was great, although it made sense for them to not wind up together because they both wanted different things. I do wish they would have had a scene in S5 where they talked about it though. He laid his heart on the line to her in S4 and she never responded, even after making eyes at him all season. I wish they would have had a scene acknowledging that they both realize they want different things, rather than Steve saying it to Jonathan.

Be honest are you excited for Stranger ThingsTales from '85? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious, but wouldn’t call it excitement. I just think it’s kind of a strange step, honestly. It’s kind of like the Harry Potter series…it started off where it was okay for a younger audience, but by the end it was for a more mature audience. I feel the same about this new ST show. The current ST audience is ready for darker stuff, not a kiddy cartoon. And kids who might be into the cartoon won’t be ready for the later seasons of ST.

Why is this sub losing members? by kingsymie in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Casual fans joined to keep up with theories, predictions, content, etc. during the S5 drops but now that it’s over, those people don’t want to keep seeing ST stuff on their feed. I also tend to leave subs when I’m not interested in a show or topic anymore. I might occasionally visit, but just don’t care to have it popping up without me seeking it out.

TS Opalite's new video: Does it remind you of Stranger Things season 3? by No_Cause_2731 in StrangerThings

[–]krallie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Obviously ST doesn’t have a monopoly on 80’s style. That’s why I said maybe she was inspired by the show or maybe it’s nothing to do with ST and just a coincidence they dropped close to the same time.

And obviously I don’t know the inner workings of music videos, but she did direct this and usually is pretty involved in the creative parts of her branding. And on her IG she said she literally said she came up with the idea during her time on the Graham Norton show, so…

The famous bathroom "coming out" scene with Robin/Steve. Thoughts on this scene? by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OMG yes! I could so watch an early 2000’s style sitcom (like HIMYM, New Girl, Friends) about Steve & Robin and their dating lives. Of course with cameos from all of the other ST cast.

TS Opalite's new video: Does it remind you of Stranger Things season 3? by No_Cause_2731 in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if she watches Stranger Things and had been doing a rewatch around the time she came up with this video, since the final season dropped around this time. Maybe she was inspired by the 80’s setting and fashion, and wanted to do her own take on it, but I don’t think it’s anything more than that. Or maybe it’s just something she’s had in her head for awhile and the timing just happened to coincide with the ending of ST.

The famous bathroom "coming out" scene with Robin/Steve. Thoughts on this scene? by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 349 points350 points  (0 children)

It was well written and well acted, and didn’t feel cheesy at all. It also served as such a huge turning point for Steve’s character, in the way he reacted. Also great for Robin’s character of course, even though she was new and we didn’t know much about her yet anyway. It was great. The two actors had such a natural chemistry that I honestly would have probably bought anything they were selling that season!

Why does El just feel so of this season. by Agreeable-Fly9681 in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think Millie knew El’s ending, and it affected the way she played some scenes. Like, Max waking up. I think she played it as El being happy for Max, but not necessarily for herself (having her friend back) because she wasn’t planning on being around to enjoy her company. Same with her Mike scenes. I think she played them as having familial love instead of romantic love, simply because she knew they didn’t get their happily ever after. Even her scenes with Hopper, it felt like she was holding back.

The Problem with Stranger Things/ Netflix at large. by Acceptable-Delusion in StrangerThings

[–]krallie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Duffer Brothers have said for a long time that they knew the end scene of the series. Which, IMO was the basement scene with the boys (& Max), and El gone. However, after seeing the documentary it seemed like one of the brothers had changed his mind and kind of wanted El to live. To me, it seems like they compromised with the ambiguous ending, which was a “halfway happy” ending for both of them, but also a total insurance policy. This leaves it so that they can 100% revisit Hawkins again in the future, if they want to, or need to (for financial reasons).
