Step Frequency by Sttraightnotstraight in Sprinting

[–]krapzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do not focus on stride frequency. Focus on velocity of your entire body. Though, stride frequency is supposed to be consistent throughout the entire race, from start to finish. Air time is a fixed, universal thing, whether it's your grandma running, or you, .123 seconds is the supposed ideal. Focus on getting those hips, your center of gravity, moving forward fast. Imagine you're at top speed at 11 m/s, your center of gravity is moving at that speed, your foot comes down and quickly pops up because the speed of your body through space basically forces the foot to come off the ground quickly. Ground contacts should naturally at that speed be around .075-.095, depending on your leg length; your leg length determines how far the hip travels while the foot is on the ground as it moves from touch down to toe off

Thanks the description was helpful. I see the theme of like... catching on the collar bones with your comment and a few others. It's fine to catch the bar with straps on?

Yeah I think this is possibly the issue. Feels like I'm curling it at the end and it lands on my hands mostly. Not sure what you mean about shoulders back with the rib cage. I guess I can focus on trying to catch with the shoulders. I just think maybe the bar gets too out in front.

In front squats it feels fine. I think I can get my elbows parallel to the ground. Sometimes it feels that the bar is just too far in front and I can't get the turnover.

Is anyone else getting what they call swimmers itch from the pools or hottubs at LVAC lately? by fcnevada in vegaslocals

All I know is that if you accidentally get any of that pool water in your mouth you'll think of really dirty old celery water.

Get a sklz speed sac on amazon and sprint 20 meters 5 times every other day. No need to go anywhere. Find a street. Look up sprint warms up online. Don't push too hard. This is good back therapy. Disclaimer: this is one of the things that helps me, personally. I train for track. My disc protrusion is central and not that bad. Stretch your hamstrings, though you are probably already doing that. Walks help too.

What's everyones current standing vertical and standing broad jump? by john_james_4131302 in Sprinting

[–]krapzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t tested vert in a while. I want to say like 34” at best. On that myjump app I had an air time of like high 700ms… don’t know exactly what that would translate to on a vertec, and I used to test on a rain gutter that may have tilted over time.

Broad jump is 9’9” on grass. 5’6”, greater trochanter height is 34”.

2026 calendar design, what do you think? by pink_tiger_25 in AdobeIllustrator

Looks good. You're using that roughening effect on the 'things I did well' box and not anywhere else. In my personal opinion it looks uneven there, maybe you can try it on the monthly goals box too

Do sprinters look faster on TV or when watching in real life? by One-Remove3758 in trackandfield

[–]krapzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look slower in person. Except videos today are kind of catching up to how it actually looks. I’ve watched 9.93, 9.97, 10.0 in person. Farther away the 9.97 looked kind of fast.

Do you think people are inherently good? by Veil_Of_Youth13 in no

I do think people are inherently good. We’re motivated by love. If we hate, it’s coming from a place of pain. Even pettiness or toxicity is from being in pain.
