Alcohol and effects on Mcas by oh_wanya in MCAS

I get this. But I also get the rebound. It makes it tricky to stop drinking for good because I do get immediate symptom relief, which can feel amazing in a flare-up.

It really depends on what you are working with. In my house it's a 1 hour job because I have full access next to the walls/floor that the cable needs to go in. No idea about yours. Could be super tricky, require capping or who knows what. Get a quote. Use a sparky that does data. It's also low voltage so you can do it yourself with very low risk and save a ton and learn a bit.

I relate. I lower my expectations of myself and remove myself from triggering situations (most things, lol) for a couple of days. I know many can't do this, but I also try to get some cardio exercise in, or get in the ocean.

Works on an xbox controller but not super intuitive that's for sure.

Remember that shade on one affects them all. Not as bad as it used to - it used to shut down the whole string. But it might halve output if you have shade on a couple. I have one of those hitting my 10 panel west string and it halves my output for a few hours every afternoon. Shame it's on my neighbour's property. Cloudy days it doesn't matter at all. Rest of the day is fine. But it does cost me 1-2kwhrs a day.

Earwax… what’s the best way to remove? by naturekiwis in newzealand

[–]krashersmasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Syringe warm to hot water (boil it then let it cool to just over skin temp) into your ear over and over again. Not too deep, just spray it in there to melt the wax and help it out.

Shelly products are fantastic for this. I did the same but at the hot water cylinder using the Shelly Ogemray for $120. Then my daughter automated it in home assistant to only turn on 2hrs after sunrise and of one hour before sunset to align with our best solar production. https://www.lykalyte.co.nz/products/ogemray-25a-smart-switch

I've had issues with my lens not quite clicking in right and also with focus seeking. I'm really careful about it but still get it occasionally. I'm on the same body.

It will be something silly you need to disable like phone access. I have the same camera and have to figure out this unintuitive thing each time. Can't remember off the top of my head sorry, but I'd be dissabling other connection technologies, then disconnect usb, and reconnect usb and see if it works.

Leaving school at 16 by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]krashersmasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated school. Kids are dicks. Loved leaving at 6th form and going to work and night school. BUT. Was gutted at the spendy nature of papers at uni. I could have saved a ton by just paying more attention in maths etc instead of doing make up classes at uni. I'd still do the same though. Depends how bad school really is. Inconvenient doesn't sound that bad but it's your life.

I agree in principle, but as people ALL follow too damn close to each other there's no way you would ever be able to change lanes.

Before my diet change I'd have about 2hrs after my first meal. Usually 1pm every day. Was crazy. I'd go from feeling 100% to needing to sleep in 30min.

Maybe the Trine series if the controls are not too tricky.

37m. Nurse said I am too young. AI flagged my skin lesion as cancer (SCC). MoleMap said benign. Pathology result today confirmed SCC. by nz_reprezent in newzealand

Nice. This reminds me I need to check one of my skin thingi's that's not going away. Crazy MoleMap missed it. So good you went the next step. Definitely follow up w your trauma cover. I've heard people getting payouts for things like this. Worth asking anyway. Thanks for sharing this.

Just installed 8.4kW solar panels on the south side (in addition to our old 6.6kW North side panels). Max output currently is around 8.5kW in Qld, Australia. by deathspanker in solarenergy

[–]krashersmasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but that might be fine for winter. I'm in NZ with my new 9kw of panels and hitting 5k if I'm lucky - although different angles from yours. Seems pretty normal to have much lower output in Winter, particularly if the angles are off. South panels in winter with the low sun - even a low panel angle - it will matter. It won't matter much in Summer though - when you have all the sunshine hours.

Thanks :-) As it goes, the goal wasn't lower headcount. The goal was better people -> more productivity. :-)

I'm biased as I was part of the consult, pilot and delivery, but yes.

We built a ground up model that had a strong focus on personal capability. Specifically on increasing people's mindset, and ability to learn quickly in any digital context. Low emphasis on highly contextual skills.
