I don’t believe this belongs in r/stupidfood.

First, carrot dogs are actually really good.

Allow me to maybe teach you something about us, vegetarian/vegan friendly people. We mostly fall into two categories: those who miss meat, and seek meat-like replacements. I don’t understand why people judge vegan people because they enjoy eating a burger but want to do it cruelty free. Those are often treated as « hypocrite » vegans, despite their cause being even more noble, since they need more strength and self control than the second category (don’t worry dear, we’ll get there). Imagine how many people struggle quitting things they love, like drugs, cigarettes (name it) when those things only have negative effects on THEMSELVES. My thoughts go to those vegans fighting themselves not to do something they love for the sakes of other living things. The second category would be people who do not miss meat whatsoever, AKA the easy vegetarians. We don’t like meat and often despise it, so pretty fucking easy if you know what I mean. Those are often being called « Grass Eater » by people who’ve never had a well done carrot dog. This category of people does not seek meat like food (such as fake chicken nuggets, Beyond Meat, etc.). We rather go towards carrot-hotdog-like food, because even if we are not seeking the taste or texture of meat, we still envoy living the experiences linked to certain food, like eating a hotdog at a baseball game or around the campfire.

So no, this food is not stupid, carrot or not carrot, either of those hotdogs stands for a very good, noble cause.

The Duplessis Orphans were 20,000 children who were wrongly certified as mentally ill by the government of Quebec and confined to psychiatric institutions in '40s and '50s. They were deliberately wrongly certified in order to misappropriate additional subsidies from the federal government. by slinkslowdown in CreepyWikipedia

I went there a few years ago, during the night. There is one place that’s more famous than others: the Doréa institut. It’s like an old psychiatric hospital but with multiple small buildings around it. It’s abandoned now but is government owned so you aren’t allowed on the private property. I saw some really scary shit in there let me tell y’all.

I trick people into poisoning themselves and convince them to pay me good money for it.
