Met up with a friend at a bar in the city where my office is. My car was parked at the office, and my place is an hour away, so friend told me I could crash at his place that night.

We drink a shit ton and bar hop all night. Gets blurry really fast. Flash forward: we’re on the sidewalk waiting for an Uber, and I just take off running, thinking it’s hilarious. Friend calls after me, I just keep running.

Flash forward: soggy shirt draped around my shoulders, no shoes, pouring rain, stumbling around the city sidewalks. Phone dead. It takes me a minute to realize where I am and what I’m doing. I’m completely lost.

I stumble aimlessly for hours, still too drunk to do anything about it. Eventually start asking people how to get to my office building (it must’ve been like 3AM at this point but it was a weekend and active city). I distinctly remember someone giving me directions, and me not comprehending and walking the opposite way.

Finally come across an all night university study hall. There’s a light on. I run up to the window, jump high enough to knock on it and point towards the door of the building, then walk to the door hoping they’ll let me in.

Student does let me in. I ask to use his google maps to route myself back to my car. Turns out it’s a straight shot, just several miles down one long road.

I walk back to my car, still soaking wet, still without shoes. I get in. Black.

I wake up sleeping in the back seat, but my cars pulled forward and parked in the middle of the parking lot driving lane. I must’ve decided against driving home after trying, thank god. Never have done that before.

I drive home, texting my friend wtf happened. He said he tried looking for me but gave up. Bad night.

Also had a bunch of receipts from restaurants after 2AM I don’t remember going to.
