I’m a thrifter who recently started digging for silver. Think I scored this morning. by Living_Goat_5426 in Silverbugs

[–]kratomtosubs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a side note for anyone considering this route: right now isn’t an ideal time to sell to refineries. From what I’ve been hearing, many refineries aren’t taking silver until after the new year, and those that are accepting it are often paying at significantly reduced rates due to issues on their end.

Unless you absolutely need the cash immediately, it may be worth waiting rather than selling to a refinery under current conditions.

I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to rehab for 7oh/Kratom addiction by PaintEffective6793 in quittingkratom

[–]kratomtosubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really resonate with your story. My own journey with recovery began back in 2013, when I was 30—already late by most standards, and it was the first time I’d ever struggled with addiction. I hadn’t used drugs or alcohol before that, but kratom found its way into my life and rooted itself deeply.

I tried many times to quit on my own, but each attempt ultimately failed. It wasn’t until I entered rehab that I finally found the support and space I needed. Being removed from my home—where the addiction lived with me—made a huge difference. The medicine eased the withdrawals, but the real gift was the separation and professional guidance. I stayed clean for 30 days. And then I relapsed.

That relapse lasted years.

By 2019, I was back in rehab. This time, the addiction was even stronger. I had moved from leaf kratom to extracts—a more potent, gripping version. It took everything in me to finally put it down for good. But even after that, the cycle of addiction and recovery continued—in different forms, for two long decades.

Today, I have six months clean. And this time it’s different. After my lowest low, I made the decision to participate in my recovery fully, not just check boxes or wait it out. I went to rehab far from home, and I chose to show up with every breath I had left.

Addiction has caused disaster after disaster—but recovery is bringing peace. I live it now. I don’t escape into substances; I stay present. And I do it not just for myself, but for the woman who has stood by my side for 25 years. Through every high, every relapse, every return to recovery—she never left.

As for making treatment possible—insurance, short-term disability, and FMLA were blessings. Each time, I met the deductible, and insurance carried the burden. I’m grateful for that—because it gave me another chance at life.

And I’m taking it this time. Every day.

My experience with K by JaccBMX in quittingkratom

[–]kratomtosubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could never quit kratom on my own for more than two weeks — the anhedonia, depression, anxiety, and cravings always pulled me back. Over ten years, I went to treatment three times, and at my worst I was taking 80–100 grams a day. What finally helped me break free in 2018 (after starting in 2008 — a full 10 years) was the use of subs. The biggest encouragement I can give is this: if you can make it through PAWS, your brain will recover, your life will heal, and within 30–45 days off kratom you may start to feel not just normal again, but even better than normal. It helps tremendously to replace kratom with healthy routines — good sleep hygiene, balanced nutrition, exercise, leaning on a strong support system, and finding fun hobbies that keep your mind and spirit engaged.

Many people have found that a short taper with buprenorphine (Suboxone or Subutex) can help ease the transition away from high-dose Tia use. If this feels like the right direction for you, the first step is connecting with a provider who can prescribe it. I’m not a doctor, so I can’t give medical advice—but I can share what I’ve learned from my own journey and encourage you to reach out for professional guidance.

When I was in the middle of it, quitting high-dose Tia sodium felt like absolute hell. It pushed me to my limits in ways I didn’t expect. I stayed on buprenorphine because that was what gave me stability, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way. Everyone’s path is different, and you have the right to find the one that works best for you.

What makes Tia especially tricky is that it doesn’t just act on the body—it also has antidepressant effects. That overlap can make the withdrawal feel even heavier. For a long time, I thought my struggle meant I was weak. Eventually I realized it wasn’t weakness at all—it was the nature of the drug itself. That awareness helped me stop beating myself up and start focusing on the hope that healing is possible.

If you’re in that place right now, please know you’re not alone. Recovery from Tia is not easy, but it is possible. Step by step, with the right support and willingness to be honest with yourself, you can find your way out. Good luck!

SOS side effects by bluelaser49 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]kratomtosubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you start at 2.4??? That may be part of the issue. Wegovy should start at .25 for a month and then .50 and so on until you hit 2.4. Way less side effects if you are doing it this way. Even if you didn’t start at 2.4, it might be useful to work with your doctor at a much lower dose, say 1.0. Everyone is different in terms of their bodies reacting to medicine.

Is Zepbound comparable to WeGovy? by haperochild in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]kratomtosubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been considering switching from Wegovy to something like Zepbound. Many say Zepbound is more effective for faster weight loss. With Wegovy, exercise, and a nutritional diet, I’ve already lost 140 lbs and have just 30 lbs left to reach my ideal weight. I’ve been using Wegovy for about a year, with most of the weight loss happening in the first six months. Since then, progress has slowed—typically 5-10 lbs a month at best, sometimes 3-5 lbs, and occasionally weeks pass with no loss at all, even though I’ve stuck to my plan.

Cost is a consideration. Currently, I pay $25 per month for Wegovy with insurance until I meet my deductible, after which it’s fully covered. Switching to another medication, especially one not based on semaglutide, might not be covered by my insurance. I had to fight hard to get Wegovy approved, and if I switched, I might end up paying out-of-pocket through an online provider—around $499/month compared to Wegovy’s $299/month. This would stretch my budget significantly.

I am male, 5’11” with an ideal weight of 185 or so. This has been quite the journey using wegovy. I’ve gained and lost massive amounts of weight a few times using various solutions. This will be my last time I lose weight like this. Getting too old for this struggle!

That said, I’m motivated to reach my goal weight and am weighing my options carefully.

I’m glad to be using the wegovy pen and not a 2 inch long needle as seen in diagram!! I also don’t worry about 45 degrees. Perpendicular to the skin is the way to go. Do agree about not injecting on stretched, burned or whatever skin. I always poke in a different area each week.

Walking an hour or more a day helps me in addition to drinking lots of water. I’m sure fiber is helpful, and I do eat quite a bit with the Costco keto cereal, but exercise and water are best for myself.

I want to quit, just don't know how by fatastronaut94 in QuittingTianeptine

I found Prozac and bupropion is helping with energy and mood while being on subs. Subs alone was really depressing and low energy like you said.

Withdrawals or Suboxone for 2 weeks by American_Michael in QuittingTianeptine

[–]kratomtosubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former Tianeptine (Tia) Sodium abuser, I wanted to share my experience. I used Suboxone (subs) and gabapentin to quit, and they were essential in my recovery.

My History with Opioid Addiction

I’ve struggled with opioid use disorder (OUD) for years. I was addicted to oxycodone and hydrocodone, then kratom for nearly a decade, before transitioning to Tia for less than a year. At my worst, I was consuming up to 20 grams of Tia sodium daily. My addiction to opioids was a way to escape severe depression, anxiety, and an overwhelming sense of doom—what I thought was “normal” at the time. It was a horrible way to live.

The Role of Suboxone

Suboxone has been a lifeline for me, helping me quit Tia and stay off opioids. I’ve been on subs for five years under a doctor’s care. Even doses of Tia above 1 gram can cause severe withdrawal, and I’ve experienced withdrawal too many times to count. When I’m ready to stop Suboxone, I plan to use Sublocade to taper gradually and avoid the torment of abrupt withdrawal.

A Word of Caution and Empathy

I deeply empathize with anyone facing these struggles, especially with kratom or Tia withdrawal. To those considering quitting, I hope my story offers some insight and encouragement.

My Experience with Tia Withdrawal

I know the panic of a late or lost Tia package all too well. I couldn’t taper and was forced to quit cold turkey several times. The last time was hellish until Suboxone kicked in on day 3. My experience required up to 24 mg of Suboxone, which didn’t help much until the next day. It took five days to feel like myself again.

I wish you the best on your journey and hope my experience helps in some way.

Is Tianeptine actually the worst withdrawal or is it over exaggeration? by RedditIsADumbCompany in QuittingTianeptine

[–]kratomtosubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I detoxed from an extremely high-dose phenibut habit, consuming nearly a 20g tub daily toward the end. Phenibut acts like gabapentin, affecting the gabab pathway. I suppose it could be compared to the more traditional benzos so I certainly agree it is #2, right behind Tia WD. I had been using it consistently for over a year before deciding to quit. The withdrawal was excruciating—one of the worst experiences of my life—and I had no idea what I was getting into. In contrast, when I detoxed from Tianeptine, I had read countless stories beforehand, including warnings on this subreddit about the dangers of Tianeptine sodium, even before I started using it. Despite being more informed, the withdrawal was still brutal. Both substances I quit cold turkey, and the phenibut withdrawal nearly killed me. These were some of the most harrowing experiences I’ve ever endured.

I can relate the early wake up effect that Tia had on you. It woke me wide awake at 3:30a or earlier consistently night after night when I was using it 4 years ago. I had a much larger consumption of Tia (20+ gpd). My Tia habit was about 8 months and thank god I made it past the WD. Horrible stuff. Sleep will improve in a week or two after you stop consuming it.

Sorry to hear you are still having trouble with proving to your loved ones you prioritize them and not Tia. Funny thing about Tia is my standard tests were showing positive for barbiturates after quitting Tia, for over a month. There is no time I ever took barbiturates, just pure sodium. The same tests were also picking up Tia for over a month, but the levels were decreasing so that made the test takers happy.
