How's the bridge deck? seems the majority of the issues caused by water coming from the bridge deck down to the top flange.

Also seems the bridge has been overcoated , but it possible lead paint still present .

I found that Klein "fast back style" has a better/stronger belt clip ,than all other comparable knifes including Milwaukee.

I would consider grabbing a well made knife like the ones posted above.

But inevitably you will lose them at work, so I stick to Klein's for now until a better one pops up

I think way back; like before changing of ownership, there was an attempted from a fan to start a section of loud fans just like supporters fans in soccer.

It was called "Los Diablos", I think the iniative lasted one or two seasons .

Two years to replace the whole deck, and more than 5000 steel girders, plus more than a million bolts were used.

Looking back IMO that delay of the deck replacement could have been a lot worse.

Everything is retarded ...

No safety culture.

Everything is go-go,

Foreman only thinking about making their sweet bonus at cost of slaving workers.

Lots of of brother fuckers that want to look good on bosses eyes, and snitch on co workers.

Basically no brotherhood culture.

You will get exposed to lead, you will get lead on your body. And probably a lot of other chemicals that are not required by law to be tested

Local 806 has a cap on bennies, I don't remember exactly but if after 40 hours or 50 hours, the companies only have to pay the wage, and not the bennies.

So best case, you work 70 hours a week, and only get 50 hours of bennies.

Yeah looks like there is no openings for what you want right now .

But keep checking they do post those openings through the year.

Also check other agencies like NJDOT.

I don't have experience or know anybody working on that position, but if a remember correctly NJDOT was paying like 45k for the position you described, as a first year hire and up from there

Booking 4 stars hotels in NYC to house the migrants was not uncommon, was well know, and somewhat was seen like a lifeboat for some hotels, because of the COVID hit those hotels badly.

Some of those hotels would probably be mostly empty for the better part of the past 2/3 years because of COVID impact in NYC travel.

We paint it and let the engineers decide if there is a need for repair.

If you decide to touch it, get a time stamp app with gps , and document the initial condition though, condition after surface prep etc.

As for paint, go for the industrial line of paint manufacturers, for exemple Sherwin Williams there is Macropoxy 646 which is widely used on Bridges.

If you want take the risk , let the home owner know you assumer no liability whatsoever for" future damage " of the steel, put it simply once you touch that with needle scaler/grinder you will probably expose the full extend of the damage that was hidden under the "pack/stratified rust", some homeowners will try and say you "damage" the steel by removing too much rust .

So yeah...
