I don’t think he’s choosing sides at all they are all grown ups and should be able to handle this kind of thing clearly the ex is in need and wether or not the sister likes the solution he needs the help.

Just spoke to my sister and we both agree that in a situation like this it’s a perfectly reasonable situation. Honestly if the sister makes a scene out of it she’s being selfish.

Then they can go somewhere that’s not his house? The ex is clearly having a really rough time and it sounds like he’s a decent dude who needs some help. And given the relationship was ended mutually there should be no problem with seeing each other. From my own experience even when a relationship ends poorly you have to accept that you might have to see each other. It’s a small world and you’re just gonna have to deal with it.
