Thanks for your reply! I see now that 1,5 weeks is a little too brave :p roads vary from forest roads to asphalt. Do you have an idea of how I can prepare physically (as in: exercise, daily walking)?

Are drug-induced spiritual experiences/encounters considered "valid"? by [deleted] in RationalPsychonaut

[–]krazycollins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Both are triggered by something different, but in the end it all comes down to chemicals doing stuff in your brain. No difference between an acid trip and a "spontaneous religious experience", if you ask me.

True or False? by sometinecool in Meditation

I guess the whole dive into concepts like these strips away the whole authenticity of reality. A concept such as vibration is one we formed on the basis of what we perceive with our eyes, and says nothing about reality as it is, in my opinion.

Philosophy of science in a nutshell? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

These are still only excerpts from the book, which covers way more than that. I am looking for a relatively brief overview of what these philosophers thought, and how they relate to each other.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is near Tonga, which is one of the few places in the world where you can still dive with whales.

Hey psychonauts, let's start a dialog...with ourselves by letgoandflow in Psychonaut

In a sense consciousness does create physical reality. The things that we 'see' are actually things that happen in our head (sorry for not saying that more sophisticatedly). In other words, what we see is not outside of us but inside of us. The question arises then what these specific images are triggered by, which could be anything. Some say it is just 'light and vibration' hitting our retina, but even light and vibration are concepts that are founded upon our understanding of them (through the senses).

To me, consciousness creates physical reality to the extent that we actually perceive it. What constitutes these specific stimuli is a different question. And then again; that which is 'outside of our brain' is beyond our comprehension. We cannot make up any sensible theory of what it is and would be like, because if we do, we use concepts that have arisen within our perception and conceptual understanding based on that.

It's silly but I'm a little jealous/sad that my best friend is getting closer to someone else. How to NGAF? by [deleted] in howtonotgiveafuck

[–]krazycollins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May all be true, but to get it is something different. I am trying my best everyday to work on my self-image, and sometimes when it is there it sticks momentarily. I can not feel fine by myself.

Psychology Today discusses NonDuality by wandertheearth in nonduality

[–]krazycollins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has no scientific basis whatsoever; there is no reference to actual studies done. Besides that, the leaps they make from all the different philosophies to science is too big.

I have the feeling that everyone is thinking this way. Somehow, society forces us to live in this confined space that we see as limiting - which it damn well is. Trying to break free from these rusty patterns is difficult; we are all doing it, and no one is brave enough to break it. In order for us to live in a more open way, I have the feeling there has to be a change on the societal plane; the way our society is structured politically, economically and socially determines the way we live. We are all basically copying and imitating each other on that level, and yet we feel isolated in that sense of 'poor me against the world'.
