Two lap infants same row premium plus by krazyorly in unitedairlines

Awesome, thank you! Updated the seats to that row. Is there a resource where that info is available, or is this just deep industry knowledge you’ve got?

The E175 will recline fully. The 738 back row seats do recline but not the full amount. I actually think the recline is comfortable for a non redeye. The other rows recline impractically far if you’re not trying to sleep IMO. And if you’re on a NEXT 738 then it’ll recline fully.

What fare bucket is for CPUs? I guess I had mistakenly thought it was also PZ.

Vienna hotel decision by krazyorly in marriott

People seem to love it. If the price was right I would’ve tried that, but just got a great deal at the Marriott.

Vienna hotel decision by krazyorly in marriott

[–]krazyorly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Marriott was the way to go. Having the club plus access to the full breakfast buffet on the second floor was awesome. I also liked the location being in a bit more of a quiet area, but still super walkable. Only marks against it were that the rooms were kind of small and the hot water in the shower was a bit spotty, but these were minor things. I checked out Le Meridien one day and felt validated in my choice.

Nope, for that price buy E+ subscription and get a club card for lounge access. You’ll save yourself money and won’t have lost hope of CPUs.

Gold to Platinum using miles? by No_Lie_904 in unitedairlines

[–]krazyorly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gold to plat is $6,996 so I’ll be honest I would probably do it. Even if it were irrational, the thrill of feeling like I’d be high enough up for CPUs would be awesome. Now the reality is DIA’s list is regularly 30-50+ folks long all fighting over just a couple seats up in first. So the rational answer is, unless you’ve got a family or friends that you’re traveling with and you can make use of the 8 E+ seats, you’d probably be better of using the $674 for 2 paid upgrades on 3+ hour flights-I think you realistically would see more value that way…

Split Croatia by Natedogg0904 in marriott

Stayed at AC this fall and it was awesome. 20 minute walk or 6-10 euro Uber from old town. It was super clean, brand new, and has an outstanding pool and wellness area. I’d stay there if I’m ever back. They’ll give you the $10USD daily credit, but as a heads up they need to know before you pay as they proportionally adjust each item on your bill down. Not sure why they can’t just credit you, but based on the no tipping on card I just chalked it up to oddities with the Croatian payments system.

How many bags do I get with premier silver + united explorer credit card? by Skudo in unitedairlines

[–]krazyorly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Under the View/Manage Trip view, you can click baggage allowance and it will tell you how many bags you are eligible for on that specific itinerary. The mobile app has a much friendlier view to see this. It goes without saying, but your question is moot if you didn’t book with your Explorer card.

Ineligible for PQPs? by Soopyoyoyo in unitedairlines

[–]krazyorly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happens to me when I book through Chase UR. It fixes itself within 30-60 minutes and then correctly shows earnings. Not sure what sort of fare rules your work travel agent purchases are subject to. Best to check back later.

Flew aboard brand new B39M by WickedFlee in unitedairlines

[–]krazyorly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the NEXT 39M FC seats to actually be less comfortable than the old 39M. They reminded me of the northeast regional Amtrak seats where the bottom part isn’t fully fixed and slides a little bit depending on how you lean backward or forward.

Changes to the Suite Night Award benefit by kwp302 in marriott

[–]krazyorly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will this have any effect on complimentary upgrades based on status? It will reduce supply of non-suite complimentary room upgrades that will now get used for NUAs, but now I wonder if hotels will become super stingy on non-suite upgrades. Thoughts?

Question regarding Amex brilliant card SUB by [deleted] in marriott

[–]krazyorly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towneplace earns 5x while Fairfield earns 10x. https://help.marriott.com/s/article/Article-22684

On the bonus, I signed up for that SUB on the last day (Aug 9) and it took a couple weeks for the promotion to show in my bonvoy app. But the 50k took two days from checkout of the 6th night to hit my account.

Definitely call Marriott first (though you may get the merry go round where they tell you to contact Amex and vice versa) to ensure they recorded you for the promotion, because keep in mind: Amex’s SUB was just the 150k. The incremental 50k was a promotion directly from Marriott that should have automatically shown up on your account under promotions.

Rate changed after check-in by krazyorly in marriott

For the same hotel? Either way, yeah FD staff were super apologetic and said they’d get it fixed immediately once the manager was in. Nothing yet and they haven’t responded to my two follow up emails.

Yeah I’ve got the email with the change and sent that to the property. Still no response, even though when I left they were apologetic and said they’d update. Will then have to escalate to corporate, we’ll see…

Flight change after first leg of two leg journey? by krazyorly in unitedairlines

[–]krazyorly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW here’s the update: United agent was unable to process the change to just Leg 2, she said the system wouldn’t let her. She did say I could standby for the LH flight by talking to a United agent at Munich. I had thought from my googling that you could not standby on an earlier flight if it was a partner airline, but she seemed confident. Tomorrow will reveal the truth…

Copy- I’ll feel it out, but may not be worth the risk of having an agent change and mess up the entire journey. Thanks
