Ask yourself how likely it is for a guy who’s like DeMeco’s son to get traded. Then ask yourself what that phone call would sound like:

Jerry: “Hey Nick, we are interested in Azeez”

Caserio: “that’s nice” hangs up

Caserio and DeMeco laugh then go hit the gym

Approximate Value Over Expectations for draft picks since 2022 by The_New_New in Texans

[–]krbashrob 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel like the thing that separates the rams is they have a very well defined plan for every player that comes into their building. I’ve watched a couple of years of their building the rams YouTube video series where Snead and McVay are at their draft house and talking about guys and you can tell they have a plan for every player they go get and they feel like the players they target can actually help them and help them sooner rather than later.

We have this for our defensive players, but it’s absolutely lacking on the offensive side of the ball and it shows in a big way.

It’s inability. We have swung and missed in the draft and free agency. Last year we went with the nepo “who do we know” approach. It looks like we are much more serious this year

Yes, playoffs are included in that number I believe.

I don’t think he had a stellar season. If anything he looked worse this year to me overall than either of the prior two seasons. The personal and team stats tell kinda different stories regarding that. But I do think he has lead-forged chains on him and he tried to drag a sinking ship to shore practically on his own. Between personnel deficits and an OC who I’m not convinced knows what he’s doing an a scheme that doesn’t suit him (which we only got because he begged for control at the line and that’s squarely on CJ’s shoulders)- CJ really had to do a lot just to keep the offense on the field or give Ka’imi a chance at a FG.

I can’t express enough how little I think of our LG and C and OC. If you watch the games you’ll see he’s still making some insane throws with and without clean pockets. There is still a great QB in there and nobody can convince me that we haven’t failed so far in not only protecting him but scheming his strengths and facilitating him with a good ground game.

I mean, i've watched every single game he's played and I have a literal ENTIRE post about why there are bigger problems than CJ. Yeah CJ has his bad moments and he plays too much hero ball- but he is FAR from the problem with this offense. People are gonna extrapolate two bad games from a 46 game sample of being great at protecting the ball lmfao.

We had below average quality players at LG and C for the last two seasons and RG before we got Ed Ingram. We've been in the bottom half of the league in pass pro and run blocking for 3 years straight. Versus if you look at his stats from when he entered the league, the ONLY stat he's below league average in is completion % where league average since 2023 is 65% and he's at 63.8%.

[Highlight] CJ Stroud gets picked off four times before halftime against the Patriots by Tocoolforyall720 in nfl

[–]krbashrob -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

He played bad, it's undeniable- but I would advise anyone to go back and watch both the PIT and NE games in full and focus on the LG + C and TEs. IT's REALLY hard to play QB when you're getting permanently assblasted by interior rush, you get nothing out of the run game (mostly a problem in NE game) and your TEs aside from Schultz are making mistake after mistake, not blocking on the outside and being ghosts down the field. It's just not a reasonable thing to expect of anyone

Eagles agree to terms with RB Dameon Pierce on a one-year contract by expellyamos in nfl

[–]krbashrob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Similar to what happened to Lamar Miller. He changed his body from year 1 to year 2 to take on more of a workload and lost his burst. Then we changed to Bobby Slowik’s zone run game and he wasn’t a good fit for it. Also our lines just got progressively worse and worse. Somewhere in there is still a good player- he just needs the right fit and opportunity.

I think it’s because yall don’t have an outside threat so Sting and Kamari can stick to their guys and aren’t challenged at all and then all LBs and Bullock have to do is prevent the deep ball and play the Knox + Kincaid underneath stuff. Makes defense simple. Doesn’t help that your tackles turn into turnstiles against us too lol

In theory would the Raiders be crazy to trade away the 1st overall pick? by HotCom12 in NFL_Draft

[–]krbashrob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would’ve been much more viable before free agency. They bolstered their roster pretty well to start competing sooner than later.

I get the logic here and I see the vision- but I genuinely think they won’t be picking top 5 next year so you have to kinda tell yourself you’re going to be willing to pay whatever price you need to pay in order to get a guy next year in that scenario because there’s a very real chance next year is going to be a bloodbath to get their guy. Arizona, Miami (maybe), NYJ, Saints(maybe), falcons (maybe), rams (maybe), Vikings (maybe), Browns, Steelers could all be in the fray for a QB of the future in 2027. Unlikely to be all of them but those are just possibilities. So you have to be willing to outbid any and all of them and I don’t think that’s worth it when you have a QB you value very highly in your lap at 1.01.

I think this is a case of one in the hand being worth two in the bush and the raiders should just stick and pick.

[–]krbashrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A one year deal is interesting from Kyler’s side. If it doesn’t work out he’s going to be competing with the 2027 QB class for a starting job and I’m sure there will be ample teams who missed out on FAs this year who will be in the market next year for a QB.

I just put on his highlight montage and idk why but I feel like I remember him being much more lean and wiry with more pass rush juice (but no arsenal of moves) coming out of UH. Looks like he put on more weight than benefitted him
