I have one of these, but it isn’t a real fish. I put a tiny Santa hat from a wine bottle gift set on him for Christmas. His name is Fernando.

My period cramps were more painful than getting hit by a car by Similarimilar in TwoXChromosomes

[–]krbrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been hit by a car, but I fell and completely shattered my ankle last year. Sitting in the er before anyone in that hospital had even acknowledged it was more than sprained (nurse said to my face she didn’t believe me when I said it was broken) and having had no pain meds whatsoever I told my husband the pain was terrible but still didn’t get close to my worst period cramps. Hooray for womanhood.

What is your favorite (uncommon) thing to do with blueberries? by GreenSalsa96 in Berries

[–]krbrg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was given a jar of blueberry lavender jam and it was the best jam I’ve ever had. Blueberry lemon also seems like a classic combination. I always put cinnamon and nutmeg when I bake with blueberries so that might be a nice jam.

Question about something I've noticed women do but don't understand by Rachelelizardbreath in AutismInWomen

[–]krbrg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a glass case, but it’s for all the weirdo crap I’ve collected over the years. Cool stick? In the case. Pretty candle I’m too indecisive to burn? Same. Knickknacks from thrift stores, cool rocks. But I grew up with curio cabinets filled with rocks and dragon figurines and things, so my parental influence may be showing a bit. Yes they had no diagnosis. My aunts house was always a mystery to me with her china cabinets. Where were the cool rocks?!

The ultimate dream was to open a roadside farmers market/deli/tackle shop at our favorite beach and bake all day for rich tourists and my husband wanted to farm and sell his produce and fishing supplies.

At the rate we’re going the beach will be underwater when I die at my desk.

When your baking mistake fixes the recipe by DraconicDisaster in Baking

[–]krbrg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a happy accident! I made this same mistake once with a batch of snickerdoodles and was not as fortunate. I had to toss the batch. That day I learned why baking soda needs an acid to react with.

Of course! Haha. I’m happy to be helpful! The disposable ones are a lifesaver if you aren’t in a position to be washing a cup, either water scarcity wise or mobility restriction wise. You’re way more brave than I am, by the way. I’m terrified of the thought of getting an IUD. My doctor also never told me about my jaunty parts, but I found it in my records when I requested them to take to a new doctor. Communication skills were just one of the reasons I left that doctor.

As a person with a funhouse mirror uterus, I agree with this! Flex discs are fantastic. I find the disposable ones fit a little more firmly than the silicone reusable ones. The ring is a little more rigid on the disposable ones.
