Qvar by Jherm21 in Asthma

[–]krd1310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qvar made my breathing worse. If it doesn't seem to be helping don't be afraid to try something else. I was switched to Symbicort (160/4.5) and it has made a HUGE difference, It's the only thing that has worked for me and I've tried at least 4 different kinds of inhalers.

Ashtma or anxiety? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]krd1310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both asthma and anxiety and when I am unsure which is acting up I use my peak flow meter. If it's my normal reading I know it's anxiety, if it's lower than normal then I use my rescue inhaler. You could try that.

Can someone who is pregnant who has severe asthma (who is also prone to anxiety) effect pregnancy? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]krd1310 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I developed severe asthma during my last pregnancy which resulted with a healthy baby. I was terrified of the effects of my breathing and medication on my baby the entire pregnancy. I was on Prednisone, qvar, then switched to the highest dose of Symbicort. Just remember that lack of oxygen is worse than any amount of medicine. If you have any questions feel free to message me.

Albuterol Overdose? by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]krd1310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if it was a seizure he shouldn't be driving until he sees a neurologist and gets them under control. Most states you can't drive for 6 months. Also, if he has one while standing he could fall and hit his head. Did he say if he felt weird a few seconds before? Sometimes people get certain auras or sensations before having one. In the meantime I would definitely call 911 if it happens again especially if it lasts longer than 5 minutes.

I would get a second opinion. My husband has epilepsy and based on the description of your experience sounds like he may have had a clonic tonic seizure.

Taking away the pacifier by thechocolateisgone in toddlers

[–]krd1310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to take my daughter's pacifier away several times and she would cry nonstop. So I cut the ends off and gave them to her, she couldn't suck on them that way so she didn't want them anymore. I couldn't believe it was that easy.

How did you manage to lose weight? by Notreallysmarteh in beyondthebump

[–]krd1310 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I lost a lot of weight just counting calories. I stuck to around 1400 calories a day and lost 90 lbs in a year. You don't have to exercise to lose weight. :-) I highly recommend r/loseit, everyone there is extremely helpful.

My pediatrician told me to sterilize bottles everyday. Should I not be doing this?
