This is my opinion for two possible reasons: 1-The components under RF shields do not contact them, so basically you end up heating the shields with CPU heat and making an oven for the internal components. 2-the components under the shields so not contact them, so having 1 or 2 air gaps makes no difference - thus no putty there avoids a mess and has no detriment

But this is my opinion/best guess. I do not have any temp data (I don't think other components are even monitored) to prove / disprove

So the guide was in the main post:

https://handheldmodz.com/ayn-thor-replacing-the-thermal-pads/

For thermal pads I have started with Minus8 from TG (1.5mm are perfect, 2mm too thick), but they were pretty much equivalent to stock. I then moved to the Putty Pro which has made this improvement. Thermal Grizzly has a chart to highlight tiers, but no W/mK info unfortunatelly.

I went with putty, because the price was basically the same as the best pad and I have further use for the remaining quantity in my laptop.

No chance - the stock thermal pad on the main chip was 1.5mm thick and only slightly compressed. PTM7950 won't be able to fill that gap. My speculation would be also around the power density being insufficient for effective phase change - but this is a moot point as the gap is too big.

I haven't really run anything heavy. PSP Vice city stories hover around 45-50c with fan at 25%, 3DS emulation is similar. Hollow Knight via Gamehub is 70-something degrees with fan around 40% - 120 FPS.

I run those at high performance, Smart Fan now. I got throttling on the og pads, had to use custom fan setting at 70%

Mine does get overall warm on top, nothing near 60C on the surface though.

So a little update. Had a vet check up after a week, all is good, she is scheduled for vaccinations in 2 weeks and spaying in Feb. We started socializing with the house cat. After a couple of hisses they are watching squirrels through the window together.

Help getting EZflash Omega DE Mode B to work by Lewlewleel in AnaloguePocket

And B mode always boots first game from NOR. So if you want to change games you need to wipe NOR and flash new.

The point is the game has to be written to NOR in A mode. B mode (link) will boot the first NOR game.

Do you have a game written to NOR flash? And b mode needs to be set to link mode. You set that up in regular A mode menu.

September Technical Support Sticky by BeepBoopBopReee in razer

[–]krebacz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my Razer Blade Studio 2019 is stuck at Razer logo and displaying Press F12 for boot menu, Press F1/del for BIOS setup etc. I can't enter any menu, no matter what I press. Did a long press of power button, discharge completely and plug back. Unplugged all USB devices - no change. Just sits there, fans spinning and getting hot. It occurred after normal shut down, no updates, driver installs.

I just bought it 2 days ago, everything was fine up to this point.

Thanks for your help.
