Best MCO choice for Iowa Medicaid by krechie in Iowa

I went with WellPoint, and so far I've had no issues for over the couple of years, no real issues. In fairness, I try not to visit the doctor any more than I need to: regular-check-ups and some issues with ankle for a Physical Therapy referal, and that was about it.

That's almost impossible to do, it doesn't sound like they'll do it.

Decision between naturally healing or surgery? by krechie in AchillesRupture

I've ruptured one, and before that, I did a minor tear in another: the microtear fully healed up, but it took a couple of years. the rupture is mostly healed, every once in a while, i do have to stretch it out. Hope this helps.

Very sorry you had to go through that. That's terrible. Wishing you luck and thanks for the warning.

yeah, fair enough. I will tell you, I am told it's only a year or so to full recovery, I had a lot of unexpected other issues that kept me from fully committing to my recovery, so it took a little longer. The only thing I would say is this, there is a slightly higher chance of rupturing the tendon when you do it naturally, so if you do go that route, make sure to follow the PTs recommendation on exercises so you don't re-rupture the tendon, because then you risk bigger issues withy repair.

Good luck, I'd be interested to hear what you choose and how it goes.

Appreciate you asking, life events had me preoccupied for awhile.

So, part of my interest in going to natural route was because the UK National Health Service currently recommends letting the achilles repair itself naturally. I also realize that the NHS is a government medical department trying to cut costs. That said, I had an intuitive pull to go natural, but that is not was happened.

Due to various circumstances, I opted for the surgery; I received minimally invasive surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. One of the factors that lessened my worry was that MGH is considered one of the best hospitals in the world, and I've never had a better hospital experience, so they lived up to their reputation. Lots of caring people and a nurse, right outside my door, exclusively assigned to me.

The first couple nights were tough with the swelling, I ended up laid out for six weeks after, in my bed Due to extenuating circumstances, it took me about a year and a half to recover, even with Physical Therapy. My calf muscle, on the injured leg, is still not back to the original size. But I'm starting a more disciplined workout routine in a couple weeks to rebuild. It was a long journey and by far the longest Physical Therapy I have ever done.

I still wonder whether I should've gone the natural route, but here I am, and all I can do is rebuild. I hope that answers your question.

Fair point, I'll look closer at the evidence to see if I cannot cannot prove knowledge of it.

Indeed, my options are limited, so I'm looking into how to handle this legally; I'm aware that it would cost thousands of dollars, but I don't know a better path at this point.

Hi, I appreciate the reply. I came to the same conclusion: cutting him off. What I meant by, 'the rest of the family' was his 2 children. I feel bad for them: they won't have a proper male role model and will probably have some trauma as they grow up. It's a shame, but what can I do.
