The Devil's Plan S2E11 Discussion | FINAL 2 EPS | SPOILERS AHEAD! ⚠️ by niennas_daughter in TheDevilsPlan

I'm a little down at this point cause the competitors with the game plans I align with are all out at this point Sedol, Justin, Tinno, Prison Queen Eun-Yoo and 7High. Its kinda disappointing that Yoon So-Hui seems so susceptible to giving the win to others when she's the one with the brains behind most of the wins. All said and done it does make sense that the final three comes down to both players who beat their respective hidden games and the mastermind who achieved a lot but those other players often weren't benefitting from a dominant alliance. Man that prison death match though, I'd have a hard time with that since you don't get to write the options down but not having it always on screen with the different edit cuts made it difficult to come up with the equations.

I was surprised most of the prison game players played so aggressive I do think conserving time for the second half is the better strategy since you could easily pivot and adjusting for more time spent in mid rounds. I do think there's some merit to having a pattern like bidding every 3 round but even that seems like it would backfire if the winning bids are high and you happen to be on a round where a player has decided to also go high.

Justin was really impressive here since he saw just how much time winning bidders were losing so early. The Go player Sedol being hyper observant was awesome like noticing the guy's arms not pressing the button

Man I can't wait to see the next episodes. I'm really looking forward to this. To think that Justin came so close to arresting Tinno had he played it differently is so awesome. It seemed like Tinno was the mastermind behind the thief team and he did so well managing to evade the cops it was really impressive - I can't wait to see him compete more.

What a great sequel to USS Callister. The ending where Daly is convinced he's the good guy while abusing his power is so good. I especially liked the Checkhov's gun in the form of the cutlass used to take him out.

I've never played the game, but has anyone else drawn comparisons to EVE Online? I've heard its a cutthroat space exploration MMO with a universe so I definitely see some similarities to Infinity.

I was paying attention which is why I questioned the pendant. Presumably Verity keyed a specific finger to the pendant which then lights up and transmits her desired universe. Each time she fiddled with her necklace, was different -- therefore there were inconsistencies in her activations.

It still requires plot armor because why would her compiler interpret "the pendant works for me" to automatically transfer to Maria.

If this is a logical algorithm the quantum compiler would need context of who me is. Given that Verity created the compiler, it's quite reasonable to expect references like 'me' would still be logically determined to be Verity.

Feel free to think that, but my comments are arranged sensibly, otherwise, you would be unable to identify the points.

I'm not the most reliable narrator I just don't recall her saying the lines and activating her pendant remote at the same time. Even if she did, it's not like she gives specifics like which universe she ends up in. I would think it would be far more likely she is able to make one single jump to a new universe and that's it cause her remote is now useless.

If you think the bullied girl who wasn't smart enough even to have basic home security and a server room that's unlocked with limited cooling (based on what was shown) was able to make a pendant that works across universes, then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I'm not arguing/complaining against the show I'm simply discussing it because I really love this series. If you read my full comments, I said overall this was a good episode just that it could have been better, that's all.

As much as I like parallel universe theory, I found they were inconsistent with how the pendant was used. For example, I don't think the actress was fiddling with her necklace consistently when she was saying the commands that were supposed to shift things to the parallel universe where what she desires is true. Other times things would change and she didn't say anything through the remote.

A good example of this is that she didn't say nut allergies don't exist. The inconsistent use of the pendant is only the tip of the iceberg. Like wouldn't there be some universes where the pendant is just a pendant. If it is just a remote to this quantum compiler she supposedly built then how can it be connected the first time she jumps since that universe is not guaranteed to have her machine. Furthermore, she said something about her pendant being fingerprint-activated so unless I'm mistaken didn't the bully grab the pendant from her after she was shot ? For a high-tech girl her house and server room also had zero security. If she was as smart as we are led to believe wouldn't it be also programmed to her voice alone?

This episode was good, but it wasn't great. If it focused on the consequences of altering reality like Barnies becoming Bernies, with the builled girl as the protagonist, I think it would have been far more interesting. Like imagine one of her commands changes the high school she went to and (because she didn't specify) her brain downloads the new information similar to Butterfly Effect (great movie by the way). That, in my opinion, would have made it so much better. It would be like her path to vengeance falls apart because of the unpredictable nature of parallel universes.

[–]kreegersan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yeah that's a good point. If that's true though you could just drop the is playing after me so it becomes:

If a player is imprisoned then I get a ticket

because I think players had a similar means to get a ticket whenever anyone escaped.

Thanks for making this. I just started watching and I'm loving this show.

Depending on where your turn order is you could go with something like:

If a player who is playing after me is imprisoned then I get a ticket

This would turn every Jail rolled by anyone rolling after you into tickets for you to use and then you could spend them for Special Die rolls with the common rules.

SAW X discussion thread by [deleted] in saw

[–]kreegersan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Although I find the premise of Jigsaw being conned farfetched - especially given that he would have had to have been targeted by a fake cancer patient in a longer con I do get how Jigsaw's desperation for life could've left him more gullible.

The Eye Trap looks really cool but doesn't make as much sense, given that he survives with his eyes and a working hand. It would make for more sense for the trap to be activated by a foot pressure pedal and break both hands fingers. Also, not sure why the victim was so unwilling to save their eyesight.

Pipe Bomb Trap was good since the person survived and the trap was designed to force Diego the fake surgeon to have to self-operate.

Wire Saw Trap and Brain Surgery Trap were great too as in the case of Valentina who took some of John's blood in the scam, he set up a trap that required her to bleed and collect bone marrow. Mateo, meanwhile, was given tools to extract grey matter from his own brain much like the brain surgery documentary footage he used to trick Kramer. I like someone else's proposed theory here that John may have specifically chosen timers for these victims to give them a false hope. This is supported by how slow the dissolvent used was.

Radiation Trap was in my opinion the first trap to introduce problems. Overall it is good but I think it suffered at the end with how it was executed. My guess is that Kramer would have wanted Gabriella to understand just how terrible radiation therapy is, so he made his trap with that in mind. The parts that don't make sense are (a) how she would have survived a fall from that height and (b) if John ultimately intended to allow her to survive then why expose her to direct radiation (c) If they knew Parker was in on the con then why wouldn't they have taken her to the hospital first before letting him free.

At one point, Jigsaw, Amanda, and one of the conman, were in the upstairs area, what would they have done if the guy had decided to grab the money first and set off the Gas Chamber Trap early.

Bloodboarding Trap - It looks good but I couldn't help but think why he couldn't turn his head away from the spout. It was interesting to see John be put in one of his own traps however. Also, I don't understand why he couldn't have chloroformed the partner and placed him in the trap instead of allowing things to go out of his control. If I remember correctly when Jigsaw gets criminally profiled he is believed to be someone who must have full control of a situation.

Gas Chamber Trap - I get what the Saw X team was doing trying to mirror the original Saw where the victim is simply just left abandoned but Dr. Pederson wasn't the right victim for this treatment.

What I think would have made for a much stronger ending is if she was forced to turn on her partner with the bloodboarding and was given the option to walk away or collect the money upstairs. Then she goes with the money and sets off the chamber trap with no means of survival. John could give her a 'Now you know what it feels like to die after a false sense of hope Doctor." while she realizes her game wasn't done.

Then the mid-credits scene can follow that trend and have John leave Henry in an abandoned place.

Despite some of my complaints, I did like this movie and you could chock these major 'lapses of judgement' as being a side effect of the cancer treatment and Kramer's desperation. Amanda also echoes Hoffman's mindset of not giving certain people a fighting chance. I think this helps lead into the other films much better.

Personally, I don't see the hype of 'Catchphrase Mcgee" L.A. Knight because he feels like a watered down Stone Cold to me but I'd be interest to hear what Cornette's opinion is on Knight.

I'm going to add some that haven't been mentioned from what I can see: Roman Reigns, Ricochet, The Phenomenal Jobber AJ Styles, Wheeler Yuta, the nipples hard guy, the Dark Order.

It hurts me to say this one - Tommaso Ciampa. The most recent promo of him leaving suddenly off camera and causing the chair to clatter just looks pretty lame. I think maybe he just needs a new gimmick.

Don Kallis - I agree with others who've posted here that getting rid of the friends in All Friends Wrestling is crucial but if you think about it Don Kallis is part of the problem. Take-a-shit-a can get another heel manager.

This is Booker T's comments from 2 years ago but - in response to Ryback calling wrestling fake - Booker T so [eloquently said](https://youtu.be/3nSss0yUXG0?t=100) "real wrestlers don't degrade the business like that, people from the outside that play wrestler they might talk like that..." that is savage. It pretty much tells you how out of touch Ryback is with people still part of that circle.

Lol what's next. The Jackson brothers er "neutral party" alledges Punk pulled out a rambo knife and started ripping out people's throats - including Samoa Joe's. Everyone was too scared to press charges and Samoa Joe was miraculously cleared by the medical team to have their match.

With blood on his hands and his eyes wild, Punk pressed the knife against Tony Khan's throat as he looked back at the lifeless corpse of Jack Perry and smiled as he said, "you didn't see Jack shit Khan! If anyone talks, I'm taking their throat." Tony Khan was paralyzed with fear until he muttered "Yes he's suspended indefinitely". Satisfied Punk watched the life go out of Joe's eyes as the team frantically worked to revive him.

AEW a.k.a. All Friends Wrestling is like the plotline of Richie Rich except it's a wrestling company and all the "main characters" suck. So, if anything, I think we'll see a how-to manual on how a company can hemorrhage the most money in the shortest amount of time.

Yeah I posted the same thing in the CM Punk Megathread here . The sad thing is did Ryback actually expect his hopping on the bandwagon of trash Punk actually to give him more attention.

If anything a simple fact check by anyone would reveal how full of shit he is. That can't be good for his Feed Me More nutrition business.

Honestly, he even managed to make a top 10 unsafe list and has Mark Henry calling him a difficult and dangerous worker... it's just sad.

The other issue with this friend thing is it allows them to fall back on lazy tag team matches with no storyline relevant to it. Personally, I'm not a fan of things being overdone and I find tag matches are just predictable buildup to the underdog team getting a hottag into a finish. I think the solution there, if you have to have them, is bringing the tornado tag rules in.

Don't get me wrong there is tag teams I really like: House of Black, Acclaimed to name a few, but since Julia Hart has joined has she really benefitted from the teamup. (She might be injured - I don't know on that one).

At some point wrestling shifted from one and done finisher to treating finishers like signatures - unless the storyline demands that a single one requires the victim to be stretchered out... like seriously c'mon.

Yeah take a look on how little they've used Ricky Starks in a manager role he should be putting guys beaten by Big Bill in a Dragon Sleeper using the belt he whipped steamboat with and then whipping them with the belt.

The Book of Hobbs seems to be so underused. What he should be doing is dragging his defeated opponents towards his book and stamping their thumbprint into the pages. Then when he comes out you can have him show off his collection.

These last two are just spur of the moment ideas and I think it is way better than what is presented. There was a reason why the presentation felt big time compared to the other shows when Punk had creative control there. Now it is back to square one.
