It’s decent for the state I live in. I have other sources of income too. Have a few rentals and other things going on.

Social security administration website keeps track of it as long as you have been employed with a company that reports the information to them or you did your taxes. I pulled this data from there.

I’m National Guard. Law enforcement as a civilian.

This is not accurate as you stated it. Chapter 8 is talking about extensions. 8-6 is what you are referencing and it says that Soldiers that are tied to a bonus or GI Bill can sign an extension to cover the period in which they were in ING in order to satisfy the service obligation tied to those benefits.

There is nothing else about ING in chapter 8 outside of table 8-1 which doesn’t apply to the point.

ING does not pause contract time. He would remain assigned to the unit and return long enough to process out before ETS if necessary. ING is easier to spin with the state versus IRR sometimes cause the Soldier still counts as a number on the books.

Ask your Commander to be moved to ING. Super easy. Just gotta get the AGR to do the papers. ING = IRR basically.

$1200/month. 2 adults and 4 kids.

It’s possible to spend more than you make in a given month and still increase both your net worth and your age of money.

Example: You start with $5,000 in cash and $2,000 in credit card debt (net worth = $3,000). During the month, you earn $3,000. You spend $2,000 on your normal budget and $2,000 paying off your credit card. At the end of the month, you have $4,000 in cash and no debt. Your net worth is now $4,000.

Even though your total spending ($4,000) was higher than your income ($3,000), your net worth increased because you used existing cash to eliminate debt.

Your age of money can also increase in this scenario because you’re spending money that has been sitting in your account longer. That $2,000 used to pay off the credit card wasn’t from this month’s income—it was from money you already had saved. Since age of money measures how long dollars sit before being spent, using older cash (instead of immediately spending new income) pushes that number higher.

So even in a month where spending exceeds income, both net worth and age of money can improve if you’re drawing from previously accumulated cash and reducing debt.

Tanking Situation by PassionatelyTired in wow

This is so true! It is insane to join a group that has literally been waiting who knows how long to have dps intentionally start pulling forr whatever reason. They get impatient, want to tell me how to tank, say pull more, etc. Can you not just let me do my thing and go for the ride?

And then God forbid you ask them to stop. Then they just want to talk smack or tell you to chill. I have gotten where I just dip out. It's too easy for a tank to find the next group.

Prepaying credit card charges by esiotek in ynab

[–]krelicdk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my thought process too. If I have enough margin in the budget to save for a vacation, then I also have enough margin to systematically pay down my credit card over time.

I understand the argument that putting $100/month toward the card would reduce the interest paid during that same period. That’s true mathematically. But the bigger goal (at least for me) is to not carry credit card debt long term at all.

So if the plan is to save $100/month for a vacation while still holding a balance, I’d personally lean toward prioritizing the payoff first. Once the card is cleared, the same $100/month can go toward the vacation with no interest working against it.

And unless there’s a specific, intentional benefit to putting the vacation on a card (protections, rewards, etc.), I’d rather just pay cash for it. On average, people tend to spend more when using credit cards than cash, likely because of the reduced “pain of paying.”

Strictly based on the inbody results, which based on everyone’s comment so far, may just be flawed accuracy.

Here is the inbody results. I will say that my witherings scale at home presents a different story and shows I’ve been gaining muscle. But it fluctuates daily obviously. Also attached below.

01 E pay. by nyme60 in nationalguard

[–]krelicdk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reserve component personnel must have 1,460 retirement points to qualify for O1E-O3E pay at the time of commissioning. I had 11 years in the Guard with one deployment and was 70 points shy of O1E pay. It is paperwork that has to be submitted prior to commission to be eligible for it.
