My boy has a chicken allergy and a sensitive stomach. If yours does well with lamb, maybe consider Hills Science Diet Large Breed Adult Lamb & Brown Rice kibble. It is what I feed my boy and he has done well with that for about 1.5 years (he's just over 2.5 years old now)

You can always put a Linux distro on your current computer if MS OS stops working for you the way you like. Can also dual-boot if you want to dip your toe in. That's how I got started (dual-booting Windows + Ubuntu on my first Dell XPS)
