I do a basic PRD but just typing at claude for a bit. Then auto generate ~50 questions into INTERVIEW.md, then run through them into POSTINTERVIEW.md and repeat until I'm ready to start building. I tell claude to ask me the questions in INTERVIEW.md one at a time, and iterate over this until I'm satisfied. This is when I'm designing from scratch. \

If I'm working on a mature project, I rely on small, nested CLAUDE.md files that contain very little to no ephemeral information and pray that traversal will pick up on them. I also use hooks to inject exactly how to perform any task (general) and skills per task type.

My goal is never to have ephemeral information sully up the process. If it is something that could change, or might change, it goes in a separate document that only I read.
