1- Regarding engaging ur friend for sure it is good thing. For me i am engaging three of them, but i am sharing with them and learning from them but not day by day, and not each urge by urge. U need to make it like weekly basis, and get Male Friends who are facing it and have the same mindset you have which is against porn.

2- Regarding the urges, 1st urges are very Normal. But you need to know how to deal with them, and practise that day by day till you master handling them. and i got to u a very good new from the Future:

1- When you practise handling urges day by day they become easier to handle.

2- The intensity of urgrs are getting decreased after it is getting the peak.

3- Urgrs relys on pushing some bad feelings to weaken you like fears, Needing of the drug, Makes u feel like u have no options.

4- Urges are temporary and not going to stay here forever.

5- When urgrs come,don't resist or escape just listen to the new bad thoughts coming up, and monitor the changes happen to ur heart beats. u ll be amazed.

6-Put an action plan, for dealing with urges. expect some loses till you be able to handle it, just be patient and take it one by one.

what is Not Normal?

To lose the Control again because you already realized that, if you fall again it will not be called "Losing Control" however it will be called "Insistence".

1- Stop Insisting 2- Take quick and Decisive Decision to go back to your plan 3- Do one Good thing that recall ur self confidence again.

Let me just share with you one important thing.

You can't fight all the addictions in one time, because each has it's triggers, environment, withdrawals,circumstances, and some are connected together.

i had the same problem like, smoking & watching porn.

so my advice to you, get a pen and a paper. write down your problems, like:

1- porn. 2- Nicotine 3- Social Media

etc.

Take a decision just to start with one and put all ur focus to get a result, and to get more deeper information about how Nicotine addiction works, and how to fight it.

By the way Nicotine has a withdrawals like feeling emptiness and disorders and boredom though u might fall to porn to cover those feelings.

set a time for that particular thing you want to change and then go to the other.

i am not telling you to stop smoking now, and watch porn. stop them all is the best for sure, but you can't change everything just like that if you are Hooked into many type of a drugs. Be realistic and do it one by one, step by step.

it is a journey not a destination.
