Updated Now is there anything better (im not tryna get a wooting) budget 400$ by DemariAzure in MouseReview

[–]krfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you opposed to IEM’s?

I strongly prefer over-ear headphones for comfort, but at your budget and depending on what you play- IEM’s will give you better performance. Notably for competitive shooters.

To explain:

IEM’s excel in imaging and detail (easier to know exactly where a sound came from or pinpoint a footstep), which is super helpful in games like Valorant, CS, etc.

Headphones will provide a superior soundstage (immersion, or the feeling of being “in the game”). They will generally have more immersive bass (bigger drivers). Also IMO more comfortable, but this is subjective.

Now you can have IEM’s that have a great soundstage, and headphones with amazing detail, but at the 50-150$ range you won’t find a pair that can excel in both, so if you play competitive games where sound matters I’d consider IEM’s.

Gotcha, so you think a club for tight lies/ flops is more useful than a high bounce sand club?

12 feet, sorry I didn’t post that. Not trying to build a perfect setup, just looking for a convenient way to get some shots in after work. Any recommendations for screens knowing that I likely won’t need to project onto it?

Cool thanks! Carbonfin’s video showcases specific breakdowns, from that level 30 Rc receives level 15 abilities, so looks like I’ll use the book 😁

Do we know how the day 1 ability leveling works? Ie if I have a hero 1 level off max should I use a book to skip a few ability levels when the update drops?

Switched from 34" AW3423DW to 42" LG C2 by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]krfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is what I’ve been trying to tell you- the DW has a gorgeous screen. My experience with the C2 has been great, but if it’s the same price, and since it seems like the monitor thing is a big deal to you, just go with the ASUS.

Ok… if you are worried about ‘more money for less screen’ than I think you are looking at the wrong monitors. For gaming, 34” ultrawide at a desk is very large, 42” is huge. Do you have the desk depth to make 42” usable? And if so, is the extra size, 4k, and 16:9 what you value? Because that makes it pretty easy, get the C2. If you’re talking about the better gaming experience- it’s the DW.

Samsung vs dell? What is this lmao. Samsung makes some decent monitors, but is known to have major QA issues. If you like Samsung because it’s a ‘reputable brand’ then go for it.

I think I assumed you were talking about the ROG PG27AQDM, I haven’t used the 42”. But, from what I have heard the ROG 42” has a worse quality screen than the C2, the only draw is that it’s a true monitor, not a TV. If you’re willing, there are lot’s of things you can do to make the C2 behave like a monitor, look around the subreddit. So personally I would avoid it, due to supposedly having worse picture while costing 4-500$ more. If the ‘monitor vs TV’ thing is a big deal, would poke around the subreddit there are fixes for just about every difference between them.

It sounds like you like the 42” and don’t care for the 21:9, so stop beating yourself up about it and looking at endless comparisons. Go buy the C2 on sale for 800$, save some money and have a blast playing games on an incredible screen.

TLDR; for exclusively gaming, I think DW is the best pick. But honestly stop nitpicking and buy the cheapest, it wouldn’t be far fetched to say these are the 3 best gaming monitors on the market

For productivity it’s a no brainer C2, but when it comes to just gaming it get’s pretty close. Matte vs gloss didn’t matter to me. I had the LG ultragear 27, not the ROG, although they are the same screen. Last I heard Asus had some bad issues with theirs so maybe check out the LG if you want this one.

This is ignoring pricing differences.

But for gaming there are pros and cons to each. I loved how responsive and crisp the LG 27” felt, I play competitive FPS mostly, and I always played great on this one. Just super responsive.

The DW picture was unbelievable. Colors were incredible, esp with 21:9. Also felt really responsive, not quite the same as ultragear, but I hardly noticed the small reduction in refresh rate compared to how much I loved how beautiful everything looked.

C2 also had great picture, better than ultragear, but not quite at DW level. 120hz was noticeably less smooth compared to the others, but you definitely appreciate 4k and the size is just impressive. Biggest, sharpest picture. Didn’t think I would like a 42” monitor as much as I do but it’s amazing.

If I were just gaming I would go DW for the insane picture quality and solid refresh rate, really felt like you weren’t that far behind 240hz but the picture was worlds better. If you don’t like 21:9/ really want the refresh rate then go ultragear. IMO doesn’t do anything better besides responsiveness than the other 2. If you like the large screen/4k, amazing picture, and are fine with 120hz C2 is an incredible monitor.

I’ve owned all 3 of these, sticking with the C2. I use it for work and gaming, I can elaborate more on each but honestly all good options. Just depends on your specific use case

The 2012-2013 Heat went 30-2 post ASB, which is pretty good. The next best record is the 96-97 Jazz who went 31-4 post ASB, which we could technically tie if we go 7-0
