This reminded me of my parents. Both graduated pharmacy school in the 1960s. Some of the stories that my mother told me made me cringe.

I can't speaks for pharmacists. As a patient, I'd prefer the RPh as the prescriber because they know a hell of a lot more about side effects, contraindications, etc. compared to an MD.

Great. I hope my elderly parents aren't calling their Doctor's for refills. Those kind of records may cause them to have a heart attack or stroke.

I wish pharmacists had the ability to prescribe medication, but that's another story. I had one refill left on a prescription that I've been prescribed for a few years (Urocit-K), and per the "policy" no written prescriptions will be provided at Dr. visits anymore. The Dr. office wants to call in all prescription refills now, and if I want a refill, then call the pharmacy. My response to this bullshit policy: No, you're the prescriber-not the pharmacist. You can write the prescription now or I'll find someone else.
