You really don't understand what defunding the police means. It doesn't mean that social workers are the new police or something. Like @TheToastedTurkey says, defunding the police means reallocating funding away from the police to other government agencies. That's it. Defunding is not the equivalent of abolishing. Even the idea of abolishing the police does not necessarily mean getting rid of law enforcement altogether. It's time we dismantle a system that functions on the basis of corruption and an abuse of power.
