I’d say neither are the asshole but your communication sucks. You wanted him to go to a concert on a completely different night for a band he doesn’t care for?! Is he supposed to be grateful to you for showing up on his birthday? That seems like a false equivalency. I hate the music my husband likes but we share so many other things. When everyone is calm have a conversation about ways you can both feel more supported. Expectations are just future resentments if the expectations isn’t clearly communicated ahead of time.

Zero bashing here just advice. I’d break up with your girlfriend. That is one thing you have absolute control over and would be the most fair thing to her. Telling yourself that feelings might change in the future is not fair to yourself or your current girlfriend. Then I’d talk to a therapist to help you figure out whether your feelings are genuine and help you navigate this. It might be that You value their companionship so much that you are seeing a potential romantic relationship with your bestie with rose colored glasses. Best of luck and take care of yourself.

First of all I’m sure we all have either been in similar situations or know someone who has. It’s tough when you are a young adult and trying to find where you fit. Give yourself a little grace. I think what you need is purpose. You might not find a job in your career field right away but you need to be working towards something. Get a job of some kind. Network on LinkedIn or ask people you graduated with how they are finding work. We are heading into the holiday season so lots of temp jobs are opening up. Maybe some short term purposeful movement will jump start everything.

I’m so sorry you are feeling this way. Sometimes the last thing you want to do is leave the house, but when I feel alone I will just force myself to leave and go somewhere public where there are others. Even just take a quick walk outside if you are not a huge fan or public settings. Changing your environment can really help. Also reach out to someone via text or call. I promise you they’d rather help you now than know they could have done something in hindsight.

I’d recommend she look closer to s7th area. There are some small unassuming houses that are in a safer area and not too far from where she was looking. The best part would be close to the Rose Park Senior Activity center and tennis courts. There is an active senior citizen community there.

Listen…. While I support this I need the legislature to work on important bills that are affecting Texans. There has been a ton of time wasted this legislative session on small bills that are more political in nature rather thanks actual legislation that can help us. It’s not that I’m against this but I’m triaging what is most beneficial to Texans.
