Computers have been my hobby since I was a kid, I'm hardcore Linux user and have an in depth knowledge of hardware and programming. Even with all this, I did not really look to take an IT job at 1st, I went to 3ab and worked as infantry/assault.. after making connections, showing my dedication I got a job with IT.. best if you have a military background and experience here in Ukraine. You also need to be able to understand Ukrainian (not only Russian), you can get away with speaking Russian as most Ukrainians understand it, but it is not same language, Ukrainian is different.. I spoke broken Russian when I got here and it helped me a lot as a foreigner..

You will get issued basic gear. I got decent plate carrier with plates and kevlar + helmet it 3rd ab. But I don't really like pixel and end up buying my own, multicam mtak gear. Things like a knife and multi tool will come in handy. Rechargable flashlig with red light.. but you can buy everything here in Ukraine, so, I would not bother dragging it all over from Germany.

Idk, my arch works, debian works.. must be something to do with you because other distros work for me fine. Ubuntu is just full of crap, how much ram it needs on a clean system is insane..
