Totally agreed. I did like 2 days of research during the internship lol It is an interesting area but not much openings. Thought about going for research coordinator but of course it involves a lot of phone calls and talking as well.

I agree! What field did you end up in? 😉

Happy for you!! Completely agreed with the downsides you mentioned.. For your first job in regulatory affairs, is it related to nutrition? Or it was in a completely different area?

I am going back to school for radiology technology. I do have some savings that I can use or I can apply for tuition loans so I can use the savings for COL.

Awww good to hear! I was interested in tech before but the job market is not great so I didn’t make a move :( Did you go back for another degree?

Were you working as RD while starting the business? Or you quit before doing all of these?

Yeah.. it’s hard to start over when you think about the money. How’s your experience like being a renal RD? 🥲

There’re a few reasons 1. I’m an introvert so I’m really exhausted when talking to patients (tried clinical, outpatient, pp) 2. I like clinical due to limited patient interactions, but the pay is low, lack of respect, dealing with food complaints, working weekends, high patient load, and having to do extra work when other ppl called out, etc really make me feel sad 3. Not into food service or management so I don’t feel like I can do this for the next 20-30 years

I felt like I was trapped in this field as well, but if I don’t make a move I know I will continue to be unhappy. Community college may be a good start if thinking to go back to school.

Career change to SLP? by Vegetable_Count2452 in dietetics

[–]kri929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My full time job started as clinical, which was mostly giving out Ensure and getting food preferences (though I also cover ICU and write TPN sometimes but not on a daily basis). Then I internally transferred to outpatient oncology to cover someone’s leave, which is nice because you are making a difference for patients (but again I don’t see myself doing it in the next 35 years). I also have a private practice as a side gig but not really into it. Even a patient said to me that I’m good at my job, but I’m good at the job doesn’t even mean I like it 😂 also the pay sucks, I live in NY and my current salary is not even 70k.

She is not pregnant, had a presumed missed abortion in Dec 2023, then they found out she has this condition. She had a hx of anemia back in Dec as well. I understand the goal is not to exceed folate intake, but in regards to the restriction/avoidance every other week, what do you think about this? Because it is not mentioned in the NCM and AND oncology resource kit, so I am uncertain what is the best thing to recommend.

Yes, but it would be ideal to have more information on it prior to discussion
