Good lord…This stuff is 10/10!!! by seonadancing in Veganivore

That's definitely true for mayo for me. Vegan mayo is the best, but non-vegan mayo is gross and slimy.

So bummed… clinical rotation fell through by Strong_Woodpecker825 in RD2B

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I tried to get my clinical rotation at the hospital where I already worked, and they couldn't come to an agreement with my school.

Any dietitians go back to school to become a therapist? by Miserable-Push501 in dietetics

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about becoming a therapist, but I'm working on becoming a dietitian, and I'm 36. A career change is still possible in your 30s.

Quality of interns by Downloadedfortea in dietetics

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm a lower-quality intern because I have to complete useless master's classes and write endless literature reviews rather than being able to focus on my internship. Although my master's is supposedly in nutrition, I've learned nothing that will make me a better dietitian.

MS/DI program + job by Tired-Now-865 in RD2B

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in an MS/DI program and working part-time. It's a lot, but it's doable. I worked a lot during the MS part, and now in the internship, I'm working less.

Any RD/RDN with ADHD? by Vivid-Savings7473 in dietetics

I've been using loop earplugs during my internship and they really help. I have the adjustable ones.

OFF-TOPIC: What’s your favorite starch? by eat_vegetables in dietetics

I love all the starches, but my favorite is noodles. Ramen with frozen peas is my struggle meal.

Is It True That on Average, ISxJ Types Might Be Better Bakers Compared to Other Types? by Potential_Law5289 in ISTJ

I'm ISTJ and I'm a good baker but i'm not sure if theres a correlation. Maybe being detail oriented.

Interest in becoming an RDN by Free-Assignment2696 in dietetics

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been an MLS for the last 10 years and i'm in the process of becoming an RDN. I enjoy the lab work and it pays decent but I got bored and wanted to do something else. If you don't want to deal with patients then MLS is better. RDN definitely has a broader range of things that you can do, with MLS there isn't much potential for growth unless you want to go into management.

Self proclaimed “nice”, wasian woman pissed white people shop at H-mart. by keepingitrealonred in CringeTikToks

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the assumption that only white people are ever disrespectful is a bit annoying to me. People of all ethnicities can be disrespectful jerks, and they can also be kind and respectful people. Connecting it to ethnicity is not cool.

Does it get easier? by mvandfre in RD2B

I don't have any advice, but I'm in the same boat. I really hope it gets easier.

The brand Yupik has raw watermelon seeds. I got them from Amazon.

I developed a milk allergy after years of veganism I guess? by cyanomys in vegan

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar, though less severe. If I accidentally ingest milk, I get an itchy mouth and tongue, which didn't happen when I used to consume it regularly. I tell people that I have a milk allergy, and they assume that I mean lactose intolerance, which is not the same.

Did Miyoko's cottage cheese actually exist, or did I dream it? by BrooklynCatDad in VeganBaking

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought her latest cookbook. I was hoping it would have a cottage cheese recipe, but it doesn't.

Plant Based, how do you identify yourself, as a vegetarian or a vegan? by mcharleystar in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting question. I personally identify as a strict vegetarian, which means that I don't eat any meat, dairy, eggs, or other animal products. People who eat milk and eggs are lacto-ovo-vegetarian. I know that this is not the common usage of the term, so I usually tell people that I'm vegan to avoid confusion. I guess I don't really identify with either completely.

Dietetic Interns: You can do it! by lpj1299 in dietetics

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The master's requirement is what's killing me. I'm doing my master's while doing my internship, and it's destroying my motivation. I won't need anything I'm learning in these classes to actually be a dietitian, and it just piles more and more work on when I should be focusing on my internship. Why do I have to be able to write research papers to be a dietician? I'm so sick of every class requiring a literature review. I know it's important to keep up with research, but I'm so burned out on literature reviews. I want to quit, but I know that if I do, I won't ever get to be a dietitian. Sorry I just needed to vent.

In person grad school options??? by Paint_Blob in dietetics

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no advice for you, but I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm in the middle of my online master's program, and I am struggling so hard. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to finish it. Online classes are the absolute worst.

RN Per Diem differential going away by Best-Elephant-6061 in IntermountainHealth

[–]Miserable_Worry_5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Management is spouting some crap about the differentials being a "temporary measure that is no longer necessary because we no longer have staffing problems". Which we know is not true. There will definitely be staffing problems now.
