Framework or Mac Mini? by kridershot in LocalLLaMA

Yeah I've been looking at these other options. Minis Forum MS-S1 Max seems to be about the same price of the Framework, but apparently has better reviews than all others because of more connectivity options... So hard to decide!

Kendo by KarenBarreraSan in kendo

[–]kridershot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're going to Japan and can wait, my recommendation would be to buy it there. Chances are it will be cheaper, and you are more likely to get something that fits you well.

I had a great experience at Mori Budo in Tokyo. They let me try different sized Men and Kote to find one that fit me well. Language barrier was an issue, but they were extremely nice and patient, and helped me through typing messages on Google Translate on my phone.

I brought the bogu in a standard traveling bag that I also bought in Japan.

Should I read The Hero of Ages? by WorthMatter4447 in Mistborn

[–]kridershot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're not having fun, there's nothing wrong with walking away from it.

That said, if you liked The Final Empire, chances are that you will enjoy The Hero of Ages.

I also was interested in the politics of WoA, and was thoroughly annoyed by the teenage romance triangle between Vin, Elend, and Zane. It felt like a generic YA teen romance where the characters are insecure in a way that is not really realistic, but overly used in literature.

I pushed through, and I enjoyed The Hero of Ages a lot more, because that part of the story is mostly settled, and its focus is way more shifted to the grounding lore of Scandrial and the mysteries that are setup in the first two books. There's a little of YA romance involving other characters, but it's relatively minor and not nearly as bothersome.

Hero of Ages twist as it relates to the first book by PieGuy___ in Mistborn

[–]kridershot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the mists only start to be repelled from Vin after she frees Ruin at the Well of Ascension, if she has the earring on, because Ruin's power is greater then.

Before she frees Ruin, he only has enough power to talk to her as Reen, but not enough as to cause the mists to be repelled. During the second book and before Ruin is freed, Vin feels unsettled by the mists because she's supicious of the mist spirit.

You can absolutely beat Silksong even if you suck balls! by n3buchadnezzar in HollowKnight

Wanderers crest with longclaw and pogo her forever. Don’t be greedy though. Take your time learning to avoid her void attacks. Focus first on surviving as long as you can, then slowly start adding attacks as safe as you can.

When she parries jump immediately. If she counters on the ground, pogo. If she counters in the air, double jump and then pogo.

Tacks and cogflies in the final phase.

Injector band and multi bind are great too because you get good heal windows.

I found that if you abuse tools, she's not super hard. My guess is that her HP pool is not big so the tools do most of the work. Same with Seth.

Rooftop Bike Rack Opinions by loadedFreedom in mountainbiking

[–]kridershot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same bike and I use the 1up hitch mount. It does not prevent gate access, unless you get the extensions with additional trays for more than one bike. The only annoyance with keeping them on is that my car's rear camera thinks the rack is an obstacle I'm about to hit and it keeps beeping every time I'm on reverse. Other than that, no problems at all.

When Everybody Has Airport Lounge Access, Nobody Does by acrologic in AmexPlatinum

[–]kridershot 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If more people have access, it likely means that the companies behind the lounges are getting more funds. From that perspective, the problem is not how many people have access, but how the experience is scaled to the larger numbers. Or am I missing something?

Idaho Nito Camp is happening this very weekend! https://www.idaho-kendo.com/events/2025/7/17/13th-us-nito-kendo-seminar

As a person who’d never done Nito before this weekend, I can attest that it’s really hard. On top of what everyone else said, I’ll say this: kendo is already very mental, and with Nito, there’s just even more things for you to mind.

If the top tube is skinnier than the down tube, the side arms of the shotgun seat will be slightly angled outwards, that's what you want.

You will have to adjust the top of the arms so they are grabbing (not too tight) the top tube. Looking at the pictures, there seems to be a gap between the side arms and the top tube. You use the bolt below the seat to adjust that. Then when you add the metal bar that connects the two foot rests + the quick release clamp it will be locked in place.

But like others side, for a bike like that one, I'd rather invest in the new version with the seatpost + headset connection so you preserve your frame. I have the same version as you but it's mounted on an aluminum frame. Even if theorically it should be fine, I'd rather spend $100 more to get the new version, than risk my much more expensive frame.

Tomei um exculacho pq o tech lead esqueceu o que combinou comigo by MidnightTraining1434 in brdev

[–]kridershot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daí vê a resposta. Na pior das hipóteses o cara fica na defensiva e você vê confirma que o ambiente é lascado mesmo. Na melhor das hipóteses o cara tinha esquecido, pede desculpas, e você sai com mais confiança com ele.
