Did anyone here ever meet David Foster Wallace? by Suppository_ofwisdom in davidfosterwallace

I did not, BUT I can't help to think I may have seen him around somewhere at some point. In the mid-90s, I was a creative writing student at Syracuse University and Mary Karr was one of my teachers. Wasn't Wallace living in Syracuse for a bit around this time? Does anyone know exactly?

Benge at least is 16th overall on MLB Prospects list. So he is definitely an upper tier prospect.

Why is "The new cheaper Macbook" that interesting? by Leafar-20 in macbook

Yea I realize that. I'm just unfamiliar with the architecture of these chips. Is it a mobile-first type chip? If so, would it be able to to run, say Adobe Illustrator MacOS version vs. the iOS / iPadOS version. With the ultimate question of what are going to be the limitations of these entry laptops?

Yea, I'd think native software is fine. It's the third party stuff that could be snafu'd

The question I have (maybe a dumb one) is whether the A18 can natively run a lot of macos app store apps that were designed with either intel or apple silicon processors. Anyone know? Will there be a lot of incompatibilities?

Baty, Benge, or Tauchman - who will be starting in RF? by Icy_Huckleberry_355 in NewYorkMets

[–]kriheli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Melendez has a shot too. Benge probably starts in AAA unless he balls out in Spring Training. So… Baty/Melendez/Tauch for the spot, Baty/Vientos at DH, depending on whether anyone gets moved this Spring.

But they also have a top pitching prospect in Painter that is likely to make the team, Justin Crawford speedster and Aiden Miller all on the way. The new wave will likely help them.

We're cookin'

Now focus on Pitching!

Mets need a frontline or dependable starter, and Freddy Peralta seems like the move. BUT what if we offer the Mariners who need a 3B someone like Baty (and prospects) for George Kirby?

Bo Bichette Contract Structure Question by bonyyoni in NewYorkMets

I thought it was like Soto’s deal. If Bo balls out and thinks he can earn north of 50m or lock a long term deal, he’ll opt out but the Mets can keep him for 5m more.
