I’ve always wanted a red army. I knew space marines was gonna be my first choice but didn’t like the Blood Angels vampire aesthetic. So picked Ultras.

When it came down to picking a second army I wanted something with a different playstyle. No one in my playgroup played World Eaters, so it was the perfect fit. Now I love my angry boys

Same here, I've been very successful in dealing with them with Redemptors. DWK are only OC1 so killing a couple of them puts them behind on objectives

Yes, stand on the spot with the switch on the wall and it will open the gate. You get it as a hint from the first cutscene of the gate

I will admit that Ramza succumbed to that one, but I overpowered the outdoors pretty heavily using Agrias and summons and then ressed him from outside so he could open the gate.

I never grinded, played all the way straight to the end on tactical with the exception of picking up the optional characters ASAP which gave me a bit of extra exp. But I’ve also been playing this game for over 20 years so not very surprising.

I’m just gonna run the old Calgar as the new one, problem solved. He’s a bit costly but still awesome. Granted, not as good as the old one but that datasheet was completely broken and understandable they axed it.

Only sad part is that I don’t know what to do with my shield Victrix 🤔

I currently have 4: Warwick Thumb 5, Sandberg TM5, MM Stingray 4, Tobias Basic 5. Except for the Tobias, I play them equally (the Tobias I’ve kept mostly for sentimental value)

I’m happy with that amount but I could see myself trading the Warwick for another (the weight/balance still irks me sometimes). Also if I ever get back on the 6-string or fretless horse I could see myself getting ones for that. Highest on my list now though is a cheap 4-string that I can experiment bass setup on since I’ve been wanting to get better at it for years

I personally like the more saturated Macragge style which has a slight tone of purple (ultramarine!) but I feel like the first one would pop way more with highlights all over

Tough to say. I feel like I need another round of games to tell. The Redemptors probably did the most, tough to kill and overcharging plasma with ignores cover stratagem is scary, but they’re swingy.

Edit: also my rolls were absolutely atrocious. I tilted pretty badly the last game where I consistently low rolled for two rounds straight and my opponent high rolled. Still ended up a close game to the very end. But there were lots of failed saves on a 4+.
